About this deal

The MacGregors: Daniel ~ Ian (compilation: For Now, Forever (1997) and In from the Cold (1990) ), The MacGregors (5 of 9 and novella), Silhouette The Quinn Brothers: Cam & Ethan (compilation: Sea Swept and Rising Tides (both 1998) ), Chesapeake Bay or Quinn Bros. (1 & 2 of 4), Berkley

Eighteen-year-old Mallory Greenleaf is no longer interested in chess, not since her hypercompetitive dad left—the game calls up painful memories. But she grudgingly agrees to play in a charity tournament as a favor to best friend Easton Peña. After she unexpectedly beats current world champion Nolan Sawyer, she’s offered a fellowship that will prepare her to play professionally. Even though Mallory doesn’t want to play anymore, she needs the money that winning would provide; she’s delayed college to support her family, since her mother is chronically ill with rheumatoid arthritis and is unable to work regularly. The more time she spends with Nolan, the more Mallory comes to like and respect him—and the more time she spends playing chess, the more she remembers how much she loved it. But when she learns that Nolan has been keeping a big secret from her, she isn’t sure if she’ll be able to move past it to build a relationship with him. Filled with the author’s signature humor, well-developed characters, and realistic conflicts, plus the fully realized setting of competitive chess, this captivating romance will delight teen readers as well as Hazelwood’s adult fans. Mallory and Nolan are both cued white; there is some racial diversity among the supporting cast. Mallory and Easton are queer. Irish Hearts [duplicated title; see 2000], (compilation: Irish Thoroughbred (1981) and Irish Rose (1988) ), Irish Hearts (1 & 2 of 3), Silhouette Special Releases With the enemy cast out and the portal sealed, this is a time to rest and to prepare. Breen spreads her wings and realizes a power she’s never experienced before. It’s also a time for celebrations—of her first Christmas in both Talamh and Ireland, of solstice and weddings and births—and daring to find joy again in the wake of sorrow. She rededicates herself to writing her stories, and when his duties as taoiseach permit, she is together with Keegan, who has trained her as a warrior and whom she has grown to love. The Stanislaski Sisters: Natasha and Rachel (compilation: Taming Natasha (1990) and Falling for Rachel (1993) ), The Stanislaskis or Those Wild Ukrainians (1 & 3 of 6), SilhouettePossession in Death" (short story in The Other Side anthology), In Death 31.5, Jove (November 2010) For some reason, I was a little put off by Keegan in this book. I don' really know if it was as apparent in the first two books and I missed it, or if there was a definite character change, but he felt really aloof to me. Almost distant at times, almost rude. I still liked him and liked them together, but a few times I thought, "wow". Born O'Hurley (compilation: The Last Honest Woman and Dance to the Piper (both 1988) ), The O'Hurleys (1 & 2 of 4), Silhouette Irish Born (compilation: Born in Fire (1984), Born in Ice (1985), and Born in Shame (1986); compare Three Complete Novels (1998) ), The Concannon Sisters or Born in Trilogy (1-3 of 3), Berkley This whole book really just felt like a race to the finish line, without any pit stops along the way.

Cordina's Royal Family: Gabriella & Alexander (compilation: Affaire Royale (1986) and Command Performance (1987) ), Cordina's Royal Family (1 & 2 of 4), Silhouette We’re sad to announce that this is the final book in The Dragon Heart Legacy series. We’re very happy to announce, however, that it is exciting and overall a wonderful end to an equally enjoyable series.I loved this series, but felt this last book, The Choice, fell flat. Yes, it offered an exciting conclusion and wrapped up nicely, leaving me satisfied, but the middle bits dragged. The first two audiobooks, The Awakening and The Becoming, held me from beginning to end. There are a lot of great messages and themes in this series, and the book is aptly titled because the whole story is about choice. Every character has to make choices, some easy some tough, and each choice changes the directory of their lives. Other themes that are prevalent include prejudice, fighting for what you believe in, embracing love, and the importance of family.
