Other characters aren't touched on too much, but are still welcome additions. Yuuta Kadowaki is shown to be the popular guy in the class, but they didn't expand on his personalities too much. It does feel like he was just kind of tossed into the cast at times. Amane's parents, Shihoko and Shuuto make brief appearances in the series. The former feels like the type of parents you really don't want in your life - nosy and overly outgoing - but it manages to work here. She brings some form of comedy the a series that generally doesn't focus on it. Shuuto is clearly a bit embarrassed by his wife, but the series shows why he married her to begin with. Again, this is an excellent portrayal of another couple. Sayo, Mahiru's mother, doesn't get much screentime, but even from that, you can tell something's off with her. I'll be curious if she makes another appearance later. It's something that is seen and reviewed of course, but that doesn't stop it from being incredibly warming, I like this kind of story in which we get attached to the characters and their relationships, we are happy for them and it's something pleasant to read, of course you have to appreciate the genre and know how to take advantage The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten] (in Japanese). SB Creative. 27 May 2019 . Retrieved July 4, 2021. There is a relaxing tranquility coming from this show. The characters are not extreme (okay, Mahiru's character is a bit unrealistic as said in the beginning), maybe they are a little bit dull according to anime standards, but as a result, there is no constant, made up drama, nobody is screaming and whining through episodes, the male lead has a brain and actually uses it, he is capable of making decisons and communicating those straight (whoa! Ok, not with a Hachiman level of vocabulary), or express his emotions in words (double whoa! "Do you wanna me to make a move on you?" That's all folks), nobody, and especially not the girls, is put into humiliating situations, there are no nasty jokes, fan service, nobody is bleeding through their nose.

It's the first time I put an opinion on my anime list and it's normal I never usually put it... but the opinions put forward concerning this light novel are quite negative so I come to give my simple clear and precise opinion on this work) The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten 9 Special edition with Drama-CD] (in Japanese). Retrieved November 21, 2023.There is a small park near his apartment. Around the time he walks home from school, there will usually be a handful of family spending their afternoon time together. A peaceful scene for one to look at, indeed. Today is raining, so he didn’t expect there will be a family crazy enough to play under such rain. Yes, only people with a loose screw on their head will visit the park in this weather. And there is actually such people, a girl in fact, who sits on top of one of the swinging chair, alone, without an umbrella covering her drenched body. Her sorrowful face under the rain tells him that she wants the rain to wash over the sadness she’s currently feeling at the moment. It's filled with stereotypes and offers almost nothing unique. The writing itself isn't bad exactly, but it's not what I'd call good either. Then the characters, for what felt like most of the book, aren't being particularly nice to each other and are generally inconsistent and I couldn't stand how the girl was basically the guy's mom So Amane Fujimiya is this slob loser of a human being living alone, when he learns that he’s living next door to the “angel” of his school—the beautiful and intelligent Mahiru Shiina. On the basis, it’s just a generic light novel romcom plot with pretty art, and yet the pull that this story has had on me If you came here looking for something ground breaking or something never done before. You'll be sorely disappointed. This is not what this light novel is about. There's nothing new here that hasn't been done before.

Aina The End Releases New Single 'Diana,' Studio Live Performance Video Featuring Anime Theme Songs Also Released this series as a paragon of the romance novel, the more it seems to serve as an indictment of the genre as a whole. Neighbors who were not supposed to be involved with each other suddenly found themselves sharing a meal together! Amane, who is blunt yet has a keen eye for detail, and Mahiru, who has learned to smile naturally and without hiding behind a facade. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is basically the antithesis of what I love in the romance genre, and, if you can't guess already, I'm a fan. The Novel continues in a straight pattern, where by time the Protagonists begin to know each other more and more and get close to each other. There’s no such thing like losses or heartbreaking, which makes this book perfect for people like me, who prefer cute and wholesome books. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (Manga) by Wan Shibata (Art), Suzu Yuki (Adaption), SAEKISAN (Story), Hanekoto (Character Designs) I have to be honest, the author, Saeki-san, have the exact same taste of developing a super sweet and wholesome romance as I do. It’s as if Saeki-san has put my longed imagination of wholesome romance into a real work of fiction. The characters, Fujimiya Amane and Shiina Mahiru, their personalities, and a very tasteful “slow and steady” romance. I simply fell in love with it. The birds are chirping, the sun is laughing… It’s a beautiful day in Death City, Nevada, and fourteen-year-old Tsugumi Harudori is off to enroll at Death Weapon Meister Academy! But before she can become a rich and famous hero, she’ll have to find a trusty partner (or two) who can wield her!

It doesn't have any stupid or too embarrassing actions, like "I love her, so I'm gonna confess to her in front of the whole school!", or something. Of course, you don't live next to a beautiful girl. But everything are decisions you'd probably do IF you did. I think if you’ve read my synopsis above, any further speculation of what you might be thinking and expecting from the novel will be safe. As you may have assumed, it’s a warm and sweet story where two main characters will slowly and steadily warm up with each other. Admittedly, there are many stories which use such premise. The difference will lie on the way the author handles characters slowly progressing relationship.

However, he comes down with a pretty hasty cold the following day due to the rain. The girl that he leant his umbrella then proceeds to show up at his front door to, not only return his umbrella, but to also take care of Amane until he gets better. A moment later, he decided to put the umbrella near Mahiru and give it to her.Note: I am reading this series in Japanese, and my review reflects my opinions after the latest volume, the eighth, which released earlier in January of this year. The story is also nothing new, which isn't a bad thing per se; they are neighbors, she starts cooking for him, he But not here. Here we simply have a normal pair of neighbors. While aware of each other’s existence, still just that, neighbors. Otherwise complete strangers. At least until a small courteous exchange ended up triggering everything this story is going to tell you. Ever so slowly, and ever so peacefully. Taking a relationship from strangers to lovers not with the sledgehammer through the wall, but by simple day by day exchanges and developments. A collection of newly written side stories depicting the past and present of two people who are attracted to each other and the times that surround them. I mentioned earlier that this also has pretty art. I mean it. Despite being a light novel, where the focus is not nearly as heavy on the art is it is with manga, Hanekoto’s illustrations and style perfectly encapsulate the diabetes-inducing sweetness of this series.
