About this deal

The third entry to the Streets of Rage series, Streets of Rage 3, was less well-received than its predecessors; despite some enhancements, it was seen as very similar to Streets of Rage 2. This entry added a more complex storyline told using cutscenes. The Western version featured increased difficulty, with other elements altered or censored from the Japanese release. The music, again composed by Koshiro and Kawashima, was also criticized for being radically different from the music from the first two games. Unlike the two preceding games, Streets of Rage 3 was available only on the Genesis. Bad ending: The player went through the game on a normal or difficult difficulty level, saved the police chief, defeated Robot Y, but the time limit has expired. Adam saves a group of heroes, but the city is destroyed by a series of explosions. Show captions does not occur. Well, if you believe the originals are better, as i said already before, there are the mods of the originals for SORR that are FAITHFUL remakes (1 and 2 collection and soon 3 will be out). You can play them with choosing characters who appeared only there at will and change the rules/AI in game options, so you can actually DUPLICATE the original experience, but on the SORR engine (like SOR1 rules, SOR2 rules etc). Several add-ons were released, including a Power Base Converter to play Master System games. It was released in several different versions, A year has passed since the events of Streets of Rage. To celebrate the defeat of the mysterious 'Mr. X' and his syndicate the previous year, Adam Hunter, Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding met at their favorite nightspot in the city and spent their time reminiscing about their vigilante crusade against 'Mr. X' and his organization. Axel and Blaze had moved out of the city after the adventure from last year. Axel has begun working as a part-time bodyguard and Blaze teaches dance classes. Adam has since rejoined the police force and lives in a small house with his younger brother.

In more ways than one, Streets of Rage 3 turned everything up to 11... and for some fans it was overwhelming. Designed by an R&D team supervised by Hideki Sato and Masami Ishikawa, the Genesis was adapted from Sega's System 16 arcade board, centered on a Unlike the other two games in the series, this game has only one ending, the 'good' ending where Mr. X is defeated and Adam is rescued. The five heroes then take a helicopter to leave Mr. X's island.

If imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery, the Final Fight dev team must have felt particularly honoured. Elements were unashamedly pilfered from Capcom's seminal street brawler, from moveset and mechanics to locations, enemy types and overall presentation. In spite of this, Streets of Rage II managed to build its own legacy by refining and improving practically every single aspect of arcade Final Fight: the sprites were better animated; the controls tighter; the environments more detailed - and all of this on a home console. Next to the limited SNES port of Final Fight, there's simply no comparison. Three six-part comic strip series based upon the games appeared in Sonic the Comic in the early 1990s (along with several other adaptations of popular Sega franchises). The first two of these was written by Mark Millar, who has since become popular writing The Authority for Wildstorm and Ultimate X-Men and The Ultimate's for Marvel, while the third (along with a Poster Mag story) was written by Nigel Kitching. Peter Richardson produced the artwork for all nineteen episodes. The first two stories are loosely based on the first two Streets of Rage games, with Max replacing Adam as the third police officer who quit the force.
