About this deal

The dynamic range of this sensor is fantastic. When this camera was first released, it may have have had the best dynamic range you could find on the market at the time. According to my not-so-scientific testing, I would put it around 13 stops. Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens. The new 26-megapixel sensor on the A6700 marks a decent upgrade over the A6400’s 24.2 MP sensor, offering about 7% more pixels. This higher-resolution sensor will provide you with more flexibility for cropping your photos and should offer a slightly better dynamic range. What would you choose for image processing: The first and most obvious is to shoot in RAW. But I understand that not everyone has the time to edit their shots in post. Sony's α6400 also saw a much-needed upgrade to the photo sharing apps and the reintroduction of time-lapse videos via the menu system. [5]

The image quality is certainly good, but the same can be said for any of its APS-C mirrorless rivals, many of which cost a good deal less. A great feature of mirrorless cameras is the electronic viewfinder (EVF). Both the Sony A6700 and A6400 have an EVF which can be an important feature for photographers and videographers. In this camera body, it does have an optical anti-aliasing filter on the top to reduce moiré. This added layer introduces a slight softening effect for photos, but it’s standard on Bayer-array sensors. It’s still an awesome sensor for stills and video alike. There is no limit on recording time, which is a great benefit. You’re only restricted by the size of your card or the buffer. The Sony A6700 and A6400 both deliver superb video capabilities, although there are a few notable differences:Paired with the right lenses, the A6400 is perhaps the best mid-range camera for shooting sports, action, and wildlife. Its autofocus system is fantastic.

Nonetheless, several factors such as lens quality and shooting conditions affect the continuous shooting performance. Interestingly, the larger buffer in the A6700 means it can sustain its burst shooting for longer. A notorious issue of the A6400 is the presence of rolling shutter artifacts. This is because the top and the bottom of the sensor are not read out at the same time, but roughly 30 milliseconds apart. That is enough to cause serious bending when panned or a “jello” effect when digitally stabilized.x 4.000 (3:2), 6.000 x 3.376 (16:9), 4.240 x 2.832 (3:2), 4.240 x 2.400 (16:9), 3.008 x 1.688 (16:9)
