About this deal

The leaves have the same resveratrol properties as the wine, but in addition to this they have a vast array of other health properties, including protective polyphenols and anthocyanins. In recent studies it has been proven to be an effective remedy for the effects that come as a result of CVI and varicose veins. This is what makes it a useful bath for the legs, especially for someone that spends their whole day on their feet.

Both the red vine leaves, as well as the skin and the seeds of the grape, contain antioxidant polyphenols. These phytonutrients are capable of counteracting the accumulation of hyper-reactive oxidant species, also known as oxidative stress and responsible for many cellular damages. It is recognized that oxidative stress promotes premature aging of the body. Thus, thanks to their antioxidant power, the polyphenols of the red vine can have many protective effects. Nees et al (2003) undertook an in vitro study to increase understanding of the effects of endothelial inhibitors and to explore the possible role of venular endothelial cells in the development of connective tissue failure characteristically seen in CVI. It was discovered that a standardised extract of red vine leaves (AS 195) not only protected venular endothelial cells but also, when applied to previously damaged cells, could prompt cellular repair. Therefore, purified molecules of equivalent action, such as escin, esculoside, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, asiaticoside, hesperidin etc are preferred.Red Vine Leaf Extract has been used for ages by French farmers, and it was not until recently that the uses of this medicinal plant were discovered. It is an ideal ingredient in the treatment of Chronic Venomous Insufficiency, or CVI. CVI is a condition that affects the majority of the adult population. Safety: Our treatments have proven 99%+ safe over the last 12+ years (with minor/temporary irritation occurring in the other 1%- of treatments). However,as with any medical/aesthetic treatment or skin product, sensitivity varies from person to person, and from time to time even on the same person, depending on lifestyle, genetics and state of health(how each individual body responds to a treatment at a specific time), so we cannot guarantee 100% safety. In a study involving 30 people with acute deep vein thrombosis, all received usual medical treatment with anticoagulants, and half were also given red grape leaf extracts. Efficacy: As with any medical / aesthetic treatment or skin product, results vary from person to person depending on lifestyle, genetics, state of health (how each individual body responds to treatment), so specific results cannot be guaranteed. BTW, there is NO cellulite removal or long-term skin tightening/lifting with one, two or even three sessions and there is neither 100% (nor permanent) cellulite removal/skin tightening/lifting, with ANY technique, including ours, so we never make such misleading claims. After 3 months of treatment, those who also received the red vine leaf extracts showed greater improvements in blood clotting factors and in the dissolution of the fibrin clot, with a more pronounced opening up (recanalization) of veins in the affected area.

Schaefer, E. et al (2003) Oedema-protective properties of the red vine leaf extract AS 195 (folia vitis viniferae) in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency: a 6-week observational clinical trial. Arzneimittelforschung; 53: 4, 243-246. Eladiet offers us Red Vine in tablets, a supplement that helps maintain normal circulation. In herbal medicine, the red vine is known primarily for its benefits on the bloodstream. Red vine leaf extracts stabilise the endothelial lining of tiny capillaries and promote their repair and reduce their permeability. This makes capillaries less leaky so less fluid passes from the circulation into the tissues to cause swelling of (oedema) of surrounding tissues. Grapes are incredibly succulent and flavorful fruits. However, grape leaves have a sort of bland, leafy green, almost dry flavor with a slight, barely noticeable bitter aftertaste when cooked. The usual dose is 360 mg to 720 mg daily, but follow manufacturer’s instructions as the concentration of red vine leaf extracts vary. Only select supplements made to a pharmaceutical standard known as GMP, as low quality red vine leaf products (on sale in health food shops in Japan) were found to contain low levels of active polyphenols, and inconsistent levels per tablet.

The placebo group demonstrated an increase in lower leg volume at six weeks and at 12 weeks. Patients treated with red vine leaf extract AS 195 showed a decrease in mean volume compared with the control group. The results of changes in ankle circumference were similarly positive, with reductions in the active treatment groups but little change in the placebo group. All patients in the active treatment groups had subjective improvements in symptoms at six weeks, and the changes were significantly greater after 12 weeks. Research paper abstract: “Aim: Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is common in adults. Some complications include skin changes, edema, heavy legs, muscle cramps, pain, and varicose veins. In traditional medicine, red vine leaf extract (AS 195) has been used to cure the symptoms of CVI. This systematic review was aimed to assess the effects of AS 195 in patients with CVI. Material and methods: A systematic literature search was performed to identify trials that reported the impact of red vine leaf extract on CVI. The primary outcomes investigated were Leg (limb) volume, calf circumference, ankle circumference, tired and heavy legs, a sensation of tension, tingling sensation, and pain. Results: From the 56 studies, 5 trials were selected according to our inclusion criteria. Red vine leaf extract significantly improved numbers of outcomes (lower leg volume, calf and ankle circumference, tired, heavy legs, tingling sensation, pain, the sensation of tension in the legs, cutaneous microcirculation, and transcutaneous oxygen pressure) in only some trials. The tolerability for red vine leaf extract was reported good or satisfactory. Conclusions: Red vine leaf extract had a beneficial therapeutic role in patients with CVI. Further high‐quality trials are required to be carried out to provide strong evidence.“ The study lasted for 12 weeks and at the end of that duration, those who were using the red vine leaf extract recorded remarkable improvements in their conditions. The accelerated rate of blood flow from the legs resulted in a drastic reduction in the volumes and circumference of the legs.

Although the red vine leaf extract studies were small in number, the available evidence suggests that AS 195 has properties that may help to maintain healthy leg-vein function. As such, its role in the prevention of CVI and in ameliorating established venous disease could be further explored. Such investigations may include evaluation of the correction of early vein changes to prevent venous ulceration and the role of red vine leaf extract in maintaining leg-vein integrity, thus leading to enhanced treatment options and a recurrence-prevention strategy.
