About this deal

Before I give my review I have to say that I don't read small-town romances just because I have never been interested in them, but when I heard LJ was writing one I knew I had to give it a shot. Together Grace and West’s chemistry was completely explosive. From the banter, to the snide remarks, to the kind gestures, to the acceptance and love completely of one another. It was truly beautiful to watch the journey of self discovery, acceptance, and life they went through together and separately.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Random House Publishing - Ballantine via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review. La química intensa y electrizante entre ellos es, guau, puro fuego. ¿Se puede morir de combustión espontánea? Y EL MEJOR BESO QUE HE LEÍDO I read a lot of non-fiction on this time period and it was just nice to read a well written and entertaing historical fiction story. What words can I say to fully articulate well to show my emotion of what L.J. Shen’s word to do to me each time I open one of her books?

What folks are saying about FIRE

The story opens with violinist Julia Ansdell purchasing an old music book from an antique shop in Rome. Inside the book, she discovers a loose sheet of paper that has a handwritten waltz by someone named L. Todesco. In it, you will meet Bailey and Sam. These two were a wild adventure with a dash of perfection. It didn't seem to matter what the stakes were for Bailey. She was determined to do things anyways. As for Sam, he was just Mr. Perfect basically. Perfect for bantering and such. The plot is quite unique alternating between past and present times and in some way the story reminded me of one of my favorite books, Letters from the Lost by Iona Grey, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... Plot holes - SO MANY PLOT HOLES. I really wish I had been a beta reader for this before it was published because I have so many questions and am dying for answers. What happened to Mary/Baikey’s coworkers? Why did they just never show up? Did Audrey have something to do with it and what?

Grace Shaw, is this young girl whose life takes a 180 degrees turn after her house burns down to the ground and now she is left with a burn mark on her face. From being one of the most beautiful girls in her town to the girl who everyone pities, Grace slowly finds herself losing her identity. The confident girl who use to be the star of the plays in her school is replaced with the girl who hides from the light under the shade of her cap. Enters West St. Claire, the quiet man who is known for his underground fights. He slams into Grace's life and tries to refire her flame. The story alternates between Julia and Lorenzo, the young Jewish violinist who composed “Incendio” during the Nazi occupation of Italy. Sad, evil times, which are described in historical notes at the end of the book. As a long suffering Leaf fan, I’ve read Curtis Joseph’s biography, but generally sports athletes’ bios are not something I would normally read. However, we are reading it as part of a book club that I’m a part of and I was interested in hearing the story, so I was eager to read the book. This is a standalone thriller by the author of the Rizzoli & Isles series. I have never read anything by this author and was intrigued by the description

“Best New Personal Finance Book ”

The title, Playing with Fire, is undoubtedly the most apt title ever. I completely understand why LJ Shen sat on it for what seemed like forever. Even the title evokes feelings and emotions...the most difficult part is that they change, morph, and adapt throughout the book. Just when you think you know...you have no idea.
