While the HF8 may have been designed with one eye on sim racing immersion, it can also be used for other gaming categories such as FPS games and flight simulators. Please note that console players do not require the HFS software as the eight motors will work collectively through the audio output in games, music, or movies.

The Next Level Racing® HFS included PC software makes it seamless for users to enhance the experience with the HF8 Gaming Pad controlling each motor independently. As one of many variations, you can have 4 motors controlling the effects of tires to feel rumble strips independently or have all 8 motors giving vibration for gear changes. Quite straight forward. Physical installation is very easy as noted by other reviewers. I plugged mine in via my powered USB hub with no issues. I have been using the HF8 on both X-Plane & MSFS for a few weeks now and enjoying the extra later of realism. I personally feel the the pad has been developed around car games rather than flight sims, however I feel that NLR will put more effort into flight sims. I have made some recommendations to the dev team who will (I hope) take on board. Works with every game that has telemetry (via SimHub) (the official list of supported games only applies to the HFS software)

It didn't seem to offer anything in the game except I liked the felt transition in/out of translation lift in heli's. Spent ages tweaking and trying others profiles but didn't find anything that I thought made it worth the HUGE downside.
