Before using your SHIDO lithium motorcycle battery for the first time, you should charge it for at least one hour with an independent charger or drive at least 20 miles once installed. If lead sulphate (white powdery substance) begins to build up on the lead plates inside your battery it is very likely the lead plates may not be able to accept the charge they need, causing the battery to become unusable. To help prevent this, when storing your motorcycle you should disconnect the battery from the bike and continue to charge regularly. Regular Motorbike Battery Maintenance They are also structurally stronger and offer a greater resistance to vibration. They have a lower discharge rate and can cope better with a deep discharge, making the Atom Gel battery great for seasonal use and longer periods of storage.
