About this deal

It becomes apparent later during construction: it fits on to the underneath of a 4x4 round plate so is effectively a turntable bottom. It's used under the petrol pump island. There are two mechanics and a dog who work in Jo's Garage on the ground floor. Maybe it's old man Jo who it's named after or maybe young Jo. If the latter, the boss is not afraid to get her hands -- and face -- dirty by the looks of it. Here's all the equipment and furniture from the vet's room: An instrument table with microscope, an amphibian tank (there's supposed to be a frog in it but he hopped out when I removed it to photograph!), a desk with very cool lamp, and a operating/inspection table. The second and third bags include the parts for the rest of the ground floor, including the gas station island and awning. One of the 4×4 plates in the island’s base clips into the white turntable base described above.

Just inside the door is a small counter with cash register, and on display in the windows, a wheel and cans of something. Like last year's 10260 Downtown Diner this one takes inspiration from 1950's USA but unlike the diner, buildings with garages like it probably don't exist any more. Also, having more variety in any body part gives kids more incentive to mix and match figure parts as another form of creativity. More featureless parts reduce those creative choices far more than stuff like makeup, facial hair, or gendered clothing styles that are a genuine part of how real-life people express themselves.

Channel Islands, including Jersey and Guernsey (Sark, Alderney and Herm are an additional 1 days delivery from Guernsey) 48 Hour Dispatch Service There are also some new flowers (Part #24866, 1×1 Flower w/ 5 Petals) in four colors: 28 Dark Green Green, 325 Lavender, 191 Flame Yellowish Orange Bright Light Orange, and 42 Bright Reddish Violet Magenta. We also get the new Plant element (part 32607, Round 1×1 w/ 3 Leaves): five in 28 Dark Green Green and 24 of them in 37 Bright Green. Build Process Bag 1 – Tiles, tile and more tiles Sand blue is a colour that doesn't get used as much as it should be. It complements the dark orange perfectly. Only two of the minifigs have alternate expressions. The female mechanic has a smiling face with smudges of oil or grease as well as an alternate face that looks determined. The young girl also has a two-sided head, with a small smile on one side and a sad face on the other (since she’s taking one of her animals to the vet). I also particularly like the muted Octan colours of green and red used for the garage which gives it an old-school feel.

One of our favorite details built into the garage is this rolling tool cabinet, which uses 1×2 plates with rails to evoke the drawers. Like the front wall on the ground floor, this next floor follows the same off-grid angle, using 1×2 rounded plates to connect the wall on each side. To fill in gaps on either side of the angled wall, there are columns with a row of 1×1 “double-cheese” (or “tent”) pieces in light gray. The walls look flat as a result, with a column of 1×1 pieces providing an accent — a remarkably clever way of filling what would otherwise be an unsightly gap.

New-for-January-2019 decorated elements include an animal clinic window, service station sign and a printed octane gas pump. The far side of the exam room features a desk with cluttered papers and a lamp along with another desk with a frog under a heating lamp and some medicine bottles. The vet’s office waiting area has two couches, with a resident parrot on a perch and a large fish in a small aquarium. The orange fish in the aquarium is attached to the wall with a Technic pin, and as we saw in the official product photos, tends to want to “float” upside down — perhaps the vet should look into getting a larger tank that doesn’t kill his fish…

Roll up the door to access Jo's vehicle workshop, complete with tire mounter and working vehicle lift. The kitchen area is fairly well appointed, with sink, worktop, cooker and hob. The door on the right leads to... Set 10264 Corner Garage is a 2,569 piece Creator Expert exclusive set with 6 minifigs released in 2019. It is the fourteenth modular building and fifth corner building, released in January 2019. However, the set was moved from Modular Buildings under Advanced Models to Creator Export and was the first of the Modular Buildings to do so. It resembles that of a 1950s-style American building where its bottom floor is made up of the garage, the middle floor has a veterinarian's office, and the top floor is an apartment with roof access.Reinforcing our point about the “logic” of LEGO Creator Expert modular buildings earlier, every floor is connected by staircases, including the roof, which has an angled set of doors leading downstairs. The Corner Garage includes six minifigs — two garage mechanics, a biker, veterinarian, young girl, and bachelor. With the vet’s office on the second floor, the set also includes several animal figures, including a dog, frog, rabbit, and fish. The fourth set of bags provides the parts for the second floor with the veterinarian’s office. The vet’s office has a large front window with a printed design that reads “Dr. Jones Animal Care: No Snakes!” a sly little Indiana Jones Easter egg.
