The Masters, minus Ram Ma'am, charge into Skeletor's lair. Skeletor uses his Havoc powers to turn his minions into the Dark Masters: Evil-Lyn, Trap-Jaw and Beast Man. While the Masters fight the Dark Masters one-on-one, their new powers make them an equal match for the team. He-Man battles Skeletor, but Skeletor manages to break the Sword of Power in half, cutting the Masters off from the Power of Grayskull. Things only get worse when Skeletor brainwashes General Dolos and takes control of the Red Legion. The episode ends with the Masters being dunked in a pit of pure Havoc to corrupt them. Prince Adam's pet is a fearful green tiger named Cringer. Whenever Adam becomes He-Man, he similarly transforms Cringer (in the latter's presence) into a lion-hearted armored green tiger named Battle Cat. Battle Cat serves as He-Man's "steed" and fierce fighting companion; like He-Man, he was created prior to his alter ego.
The second figure is much more detailed, including a button-operated claw-slashing action. The figure comes with removable armor and helmet, as well as removable claw guards. The weapons attached to the armor have lever-operated launching projectiles, and the figure is again in scale with the line of human-scale figures within the same toyline. In Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Adam transforms into Savage He-Man (vocal effects provided by Dee Bradley Baker) who is inspired by Oo-Larr when he channeled the transformation without the sword. He resides in a spaceship with a large crew of robots.As Battle Cat, Cringer can channel the Power through his prosthetic claws and focus that power, allowing him to launch claw-shaped waves of energy at his enemies. While sparring with Teela, Battle Cat displayed the ability to launch his claws in the form of projectiles, similar to shuriken. A life-size model of Battle Cat was part of the 2012 Go Safari exhibition, [9] in Northampton, and titled Taxi for Adam (a reference to He-Man's alter ego, Prince Adam). The figure was sculptured by Rory Davis and painted by Ross White. The sculpture was the sixth in the series of "Go Safari" animals and was initially placed in Wood Hill (near County Hall). Following some naked revelers sitting on the sculpture, [10] and minor vandalism, [11] it was moved to the courtyard of the Northampton Guildhall. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a computer-animated superhero television series developed by Rob David and is a reimagining of the 1983 series of the same name. He did not have a toy made of him [41] until 2015 when he was included in the Masters of the Universe Classics toyline which revealed that his real name is Gayn. She has incredible magical powers, which she describes as feelings. Said powers cause a glow to appear around those she loves; the Starchild can use this "glow" to defend herself from those who would exploit her abilities for selfish ends, as in the Filmation episode "The Starchild" when the Tree People and the Cave Dwellers wanted custody of her. She also appears in the Larry DiTillio episode "Bargain with Evil", in which she combines her energy with that of another sorceress to open an inter-dimensional gateway. Queen Veena Grayskull is married to King Grayskull one of Adam and Adora's ancestors. She is a sorceress with similar powers to the later Sorceress of Castle Grayskull where she wears bird-like attire, leg guards, and is always barefoot. In 1987, Cannon Films produced a live-action film Masters of the Universe which features Dolph Lundgren in the role of He-Man. Although the film was not received well upon its release, it has developed a strong cult following over recent years.
The 2008 toyline Masters of the Universe Classics has a storyline that combines elements of previous canons with new material, creating a new continuity. This version of Teela is a clone of the Sorceress (as in the early minicomics), is depicted with both red and blonde hair, and would one day take over from her mother as the new Sorceress. Years later, she became the wife of King He-Man and they had a son- the second He-Ro, Dare. Queen Marlena was voiced by Linda Gary in the 1980s series, Jay Scheimer in a few episodes of the 1980s series, [37] Nicole Oliver in the 2002 series, and Alicia Silverstone in Masters of the Universe: Revelation. He was not present during the events that first caused Adam to become He-Man, and did not join the hero as Battle Cat until much later. Cringer himself wonders aloud how he was chose him for such work, suggesting that he himself does not understand his qualifications.An action figure of the Faceless One was released in 2011 as part of the Masters of the Universe Classics toyline where his bio was revealed. Battle Cat's alter ego first appeared in the stories written by Paul Kupperberg for DC Comics. Although he is certainly a coward, he is less motivated by fear than a simple desire to find peace and quiet. Cringer can speak, and does so frequently to complain about the commotion in the Royal Palace or his duties to the Goddess. When summoned by Zoar, Adam and Cringer must visit the Cavern of Power, whereupon they are instantly transformed into He-Man and Battle Cat. His alter ego in "The Powers of Grayskull" line was going to be a young man named Gray, mirroring the Adam/He-Man dual identity. Uttering the magic words "By the power of good, I strive for peace!" would transform Gray into He-Ro. Several other media in the 1980s, such as the UK Ladybird books, pictured Zodac as a thoroughly evil character, a generic member of Skeletor's henchmen. When empowered by the Power of Grayskull, Cringer becomes Battle Cat. He boasts greater strength, senses, speed, and ferocity, and he gains armor, a helmet, and enhanced mechanical claws. He also serves as He-Man's steed. After becoming a true Master of the Universe, Cringer found his own Power and used it to regain his powers and form as Battle Cat.
