About this deal

A water-based product to apply over HW01, HW02E, and Product 92 range. FINISH: SATIN/GLOSS. For INTERNAL use. Fire retardant paint increases the resistance of the painted substrate to deformation and delays fire exposure. The coating of the preparation covering e.g. steel constructions at a temperature of 200-250 degrees Celsius turns into a compact foam, which reduces the heat flow in a given material, and thus delays the temperature rise and loss of its carrying properties. The intumescent coating is therefore an insulating layer providing fire resistance to steel beams and columns.

Accordingly, you’ll want a fire resistant paint specifically designed for wood. Fire resistant vs. fire retardant wood paints and sprays It is good practice to key the surface while wet using waterproof abrasive paper or pads if the surface is new or you are applying a water-based finish on top of solvent-based or glossy paint, or on a very hard and impermeable surface. Protect externally treated surfaces from exposure to weather for 48 hours immediately after application Where existing paint or varnish needs to be removed before applying Envirograf® Fire Protection. Easy use – wash off with water. With over 50 years of combined experience in the passive fire protection industry, International Passive Fire Ltd provides independent estimating services for all intumescent coatings/paints for timber and wood derivatives.

Fire Protection for Doors

When used correctly the product imparts fire resistance to BS476 Part 20 for 30 and 60 minutes insulation (depending on substrate) and BS476 Parts 6 & 7. To protect timber and timber related products such as hardwoods, softwoods, cladding, boarding and certain plastics. Suitable for providing up to 60 minutes protection when used on certain timber construction. The following points cover what you should look for and ensure when selecting paints: Test Standards The product is non-hygroscopic and is suitable for both interior and exterior application, when used in association with the correct protective lacquer. Can be applied to previously painted or stained surfaces when used in conjunction with the ACS Adhesion Primer.

The details outlined below can be applied to any and all cast iron or steel products whether they have been previously painted or whether they are unpainted but cannot be applied to any doors. First apply two thin coats of (Intumescent) Fireproof Varnish. As above, this can be rollered on, brushed on or sprayed on to the surface at a rate of 6.5 square metres per litre of covering per coat, to ensure adequate coverage of the coating and to give the surface it’s required level of protection. The product has also been tested in accordance with EN13501 Parts EN13823: 2002 (SBI) and EN11925-2: 2002: Ignitability Test on both particleboard and MDF, achieving a rating of B/S1/d0.

What are Intumescent Paints?

Door Protection against fire is fairly simple as long as you follow these basic rules and guidelines.

Intumescent Paints work differently to fire retardant paint; instead of releasing a gas they char and swell up when exposed to fire. HW01FLEX is a water-based product that MUST have a protective Top Sealer Coat applied. Once coated, HW01F will last the life of the Top Coat. If the Top Coat is re-applied at the end of the cycle, HW01F will continue to offer fire protection for life. For INTERNAL & EXTERNAL use.Intumescent and Fire Retardant paints and other coatings can be applied to most surfaces including ones that are: There are really two main types of fire proof paint; Fire Retardant Paints and Fire Resistant Paint also known as Intumescent Paint. Fire Retardant varnishes and sprays are also available. There's so much choice out there when it comes to paint and it can be difficult finding the right colour and finish for your home. There's also a whole range of brands to choose from including Dulux paint, Farrow & Ball colours, Valspar and our own GoodHome range.

Again this can be brushed on, sprayed on or even rollered on at a rate of 6 – 10 square metres per litre of coating applied per coat.

Requires that the paint coating ensures absolutely no spread of fire. This is the lowest fire standard, and is a performance standard for varnish and paint that can be applied to ceilings and walls. For all types of timber be it bare timbers in a building or products made from timber, whether they are painted or unpainted (or treated with other coatings such as stain or varnish), you can use a single coating product which will comply with class 0 and Class 1 as detailed above in Test Standards.
