About this deal

Each and every Member must be of legal drinking age in its country of residence to be allowed to use the Service. If no such law exists in a Member’s country of residence, the Member has to be over 21 years old to use the Service. We have the right to ask you to provide proof of your age and/or to provide further identification to prevent underage usage and/or for any other legal or legitimate purpose. By using the Service, and by creating an account you represent, warrant and confirm that you are of legal age. I didn’t start this business to make myself a lot of money. I started this business because I love Scotch whisky, and I see a way of bringing Scotch whisky to the world that most other people don’t see. Caelum Capital will give us the foundation to focus on what we’re really good at,” Glaser explains. Range behaviour: Compass Box’s line-up

Among the latest releases from the Whiskymakers (their coined term for their craft) at Compass Box is Orchard House, a blended malt that is a “monument to fresh fruitiness in Scotch whisky.” What I found in my glass was both unique and engaging. After drinking and thoroughly enjoying Compass Box’s output over the course of the last decade or so, I was beginning to lose a little faith in them when it came to a bit more fresh variety in their core range. Sure, stalwarts like Peat Monster, Spice Tree and Hedonism are great products for the price, but for me, Compass Box seemed to be focusing more on their limited releases rather than introduce something new and vibrant to the range that helped elevate them into the top tier of blenders in the first place. It brings together some of the fruitiest single malts. There’s 39% Linkwood, 29% Clynelish and 20% Benrinnes, all aged 8 years in first-fill bourbon barrels, plus minor parts of Aberlour (Oloroso seasoned butt), Caol Ila (first-fill bourbon) and their signature Highland Malt blend (custom French oak barrel). No partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship is created as a result of your use of the Service. There’s more that we as an industry need to do,” he adds. “The outdated legislation, which prohibits people from talking about the age of anything other than the youngest whisky in a bottle, needs to change. There’s just no logic there, no rationale for keeping it. It’s just inertia on behalf of the industry. Unless, of course, there are companies in the industry who feel that the law protects them from having to disclose everything they have.” Fruit of the land: Orchard House was released last August

Whisky reviews for Orchard House The Signature Range CB

Nose: Fresh green and red apples almost hit you in the face, living up to its name. Underneath there’s notes of grainy pear skin, bright lychee, and a faint hint of aromatic smoke.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remainder of the Terms shall continue in full force and effect. A smoky New York Sour, with a splash of red wine vinegar and flaky salt rim to provide the salt and vinegar.

I was left disappointed and eager for a new experience – something quality but well-priced, but we seemed instead to be deluged by a never-ending stream of bottles like Menagerie, Rogue’s Banquet, Canvas, The Circle (no, not Sammy Hagar’s band) and the highly coveted Tobias And The Angel, which hit retail at some pretty high prices it has to be said. Let’s not talk about the auction prices some of these bottles go for now. Eye-watering stuff. Blend: Linkwood (39%), Clynelish (29%), Benrinnes (20%), Macallan (8%), Caol Ila (2%), Highland Malt Blend (2% – 60% Clynelish, 20% Dailuaine, 20% Teaninich) Palate: Sweet and bright. Tart apple is balanced by pineapple, golden syrup, buttery pastry, with that subtle peat smoke appearing underneath.

It is an idea that absolutely still has merit because age is not everything; older is not necessarily better, it’s just different,” Glaser insists. “It gives more interested drinkers an idea of what to expect.”

Then, during a holiday to the Bahamas with his wife, Glaser had his ‘eureka!’ moment, and realised his ambition to set up his own Scotch whisky company. Burun: İlk koklamayla birlikte “Orchard House” adının hakkını fazlasıyla veren oldukça taze ve meyvemsi bir burun. Elma, armut, üzüm, şeftali, limon gibi zengin meyvemsi kokulara vanilya ve hafif karamel eşlik ediyor. Combine whisky, herbs and spices for 12 hours to infuse. Pass through a coffee filter and then dissolve honey into the strained liquid. Store at room temperature indefinitely. Enjoy neat, on ice, or combine with your Compass Box whisky of choice as a Rusty Nail-ish. Now we’re talking about the ability to change Scotch whisky legislation when the powers that be behind the Scotch Whisky Association want to change,” he says. “It hasn’t made any difference to us. It’s just not my thing, Tequila casks with Scotch whisky in them, I don’t get it; I don’t get the deliciousness or how they match.” Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie.

Fresh and dried apples, honey, marzipan, graham, subtle baking spice and hints of banana chips and sultanas. Glaser likens what he’s doing to the Song Exploder podcast, where each episode a musician takes apart their song, and piece by piece, tells the story of how it was made. He wants to create Whisky Exploder, and get whisky-makers to take you through the inception and creation of a whisky – you heard it here first. This won’t surprise those of you who are already familiar with Compass Box however, as it’s long been a champion for transparency within the whisky industry. Our Service is an online platform which provides Members with information (e.g. bottle facts, market-indices, market values and prices) on (mostly) whisky and allows Members to add information to the platform. We do not sell, nor does the Service provide any option to buy, any alcoholic products.

Compass Box Orchard House (46%, OB 2021)

Conclusion: Orchard House is a good whisky at a great price. I put this right up there with Peat Monster as the two stars of Compass Box’ core lineup. If you’ve enjoyed the King Street releases, Orchard House is a great step up in quality and depth and can absolutely hold its own against single malts in this price range.
