As an avid double cleanser, I am always looking for a wide variety of different cleanser types that can suit my skins needs on any particular day. The CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is a gentle but effective cleanser which has become a staple in my skin routine. I reach for this cleanser when I feel like my skin needs a thorough clean, whether that be because I applied makeup, high SPF, or have just generally had an active day out in the elements and need to thoroughly clean my skin. I more commonly use this as my first cleansing product. When choosing anoil-based cleanser, we recommend looking for options that are labeled “ non-comedogenic,” such as CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser. This indicates that the oil cleanser is formulated not to clog your pores. Like most cleansers, CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser includes surfactants as the key ingredients. For example, this cleanser includes PEG-40 stearate and sodium lauroyl lactylate. Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number). My only issue with this as i like to cleanse in the shower is that if your face is wet it basically just washes away and doesn't do much. You have to use this cleanser with a dry face first to break down all the makeup then follow up with water to get the foaming action!Formulated with hyaluronic acid: Attracts hydration to the skin’s surface and helps the skin retain moisture I know I wasn’t the only one engrossed in wishful thinking (yes, my desires are often related to skincare, what can I say, you’re passionate or you’re not 🤪). Most people who reviewed this product on social media were quite confused about the concept! Personally i didn't love the smell of it BUT this is because it has no nasty fragrances in it which is such a plus!! Whilst naturally found in skin, the plant-derived qualities of squalene oil and triglyceride work to replenish the skin’s surface after cleansing to provide long-lasting hydration. This squalane cleanser provides a nourishing touch, leaving the skin balanced, soft and smooth, while removing any form of tightness. A nourishing face wash for allergy-prone skin, this oil-based cleanser is non-comedogenic and contains no parabens or dyes, making it suitable for those with eczema-prone skin. Oil cleansers work on the scientific principle of “like dissolves like.” This principle explains that, essentially, water dissolves water and oil dissolves oil. CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser uses oil-based ingredients to break down oil-based impurities on your skin’s surface (like makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum) and surfactants to break down water-based ingredients.

AQUA/WATER, GLYCERIN, PEG-200 HYDROGENATED GLYCERYL PALMATE, COCO-BETAINE, DISODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, PEG-120 METHYL GLUCOSE DIOLEATE, POLYSORBATE 20, PEG-7 GLYCERYL COCOATE, SQUALANE, CERAMIDE NP, CERAMIDE AP, CERAMIDE EOP, CARBOMER, TRIETHYL CITRATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, SODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, SODIUM LAUROYL LACTYLATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, CHOLESTEROL, CITRIC ACID, CAPRYLOYL GLYCINE, HYDROXYACETOPHENONE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CAPRYLIC/ CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, TRISODIUM ETHYLENEDIAMINE DISUCCINATE, PHYTOSPHINGOSINE, XANTHAN GUM, BENZOIC ACID, PEG-150 PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRASTEARATE, PPG-5-CETETH-20, PEG-6 CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDE Traditionaloil cleansers use oils and other nourishing ingredients to help hydrate and thoroughly removeimpurities, dirt, and excessoilthat can build up on your skin. We recommend choosing aformulathat combines oil-based ingredients and surfactants, like ourHydrating FoamingOil Cleanser, whichcleanses without disrupting the skin barrier or stripping the skin of essential moisture.Ceramides are a family of waxy lipid molecules that are naturally produced by the skin and are vital in supporting the skin’s barrier (the stratum corneum). A properly functioning stratum corneum is essential for healthy skin as it maintains epidermal hydration and serves as a barrier that responds to environmental stressors, infections, irritants, and allergens.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is claimed to do all of the things a normal cleanser would do — remove dirt, makeup, and other debris — but without disrupting the skin’s natural protective barrier or stripping the skin of its natural moisture. It is a non-comedogenic face wash that works well on all skin types, even those with acne-prone or sensitive skin. Whereas facial cleansers are formulated with the delicate skin on your face in mind, body cleansers are designed to support the skin on your body (which can affect the concentration of active ingredients used, for example). Always read the label carefully to discover if your cleanser has been formulated for use on your face, body, or in some cases, is suitable for both.In our opinion, CeraVe products deliver value for money, but take a look at other brands that don’t require you to sacrifice your precious money. They have a whole range of cleansers, suited to different skin types and needs. CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is the latest one, but strangely enough, it hasn’t launched (yet?) in the United States (I don’t know why!). But it has been sold in Europe and Australia for several months already. Formula-wise, it contains gentle cleansing ingredients, plenty of essential ceramides to preserve the skin barrier, squalane, hyaluronic acid and cholesterol, and its pH is neutral (so 7, which is a bit high for my preference, but it never stripped my skin; just goes to show that the formula is still queen 😉 )!
