About this deal

I also ended up getting the air porch - also inflatable - and Millets did me a great deal on that as well. I researched load and loads of tents as I couldn't decide which one to buy for my family (me, my wife and 3 kids).

Berghaus air 8 layout – 8 man tent – tunnel design with 2 pre-attached bedrooms and 1 spacious living room. There is a Eurohike carpet which they state fits the Berghaus Air range (265 x 280). It seems a little bit short on the length, but it's the best option I've found. The overall size is misleading, because from the side it only looks small, at 3m. It is not until you look at it from a different angle you realise how big it is, at 7.5 m.

We did get a bit of wind offering an unusual strange experience. There is no flapping as such like with a poled tent, infact it just kind of bends a bit when the wind catches hold of the air beam. If I was to be critical the only point I would make is; the tent would benefit from additional windows, it's a tad dark, but ideal for sleeping. The tent sleeps families or groups of up to 8 people and has 4-berth bedrooms at each end, with living space in the middle. It feels really spacious and you can stand up easily throughout. The tent and porch each comes with a pump. We got a carpet for the main tent but not the porch as we agreed the porch was going to be the main entrance for muddy shoes, cooking and eating (with two messy kids its easier to wipe a ground sheet than it is to wash a tent carpet)

We spent three weeks in the Berghaus 8 man blow up tent during our summer holidays in France and Spain and we look forward to many more years of family camping in it. As a family of 5 now, it’s definitely the most budget-friendly way to holiday and one of the most free and fun! It occurred to me that I should have recorded a stop motion video of us showing how to put up the Berghaus air 8, instead of arsing around and pretending that I had magic powers to summon the inflation on my video (see below)…it’s on my to do list! But basically, it’s very simple. You can often get a great deal (especially if you have a free membership card) from Go Outdoors. This is where we bought our tent and camping equipment from.Taking it down was just a easy, and by folding it three times down the length and rolling it up, it easily fits in the slightly oversized bag first time. Something was bugging me whilst I was writing this post. I realised that athe images being used to sell this tent don’t actually do it justice. They do not show the actual size of the middle/living section. I know from experience that we comfortably seat 5/6 people on large folding chairs in that area. The top image shows the middle section as being smaller than the bedrooms. This isn’t correct, so I created a new drawing that is more to scale. The bottom image is more accurate because that middle section is a nice large 300x330cm, which is larger than the bedrooms and gives is plenty of room for spending time together comfortably in the evenings. One of my main concerns was how to repair Berghaus tent if we had a puncture. We didn’t have any during our 3-week camping trip, pitched on a variety of terrain, but the tent comes with a repair kit, just in case. Are there any downsides? Females take not of this if taking the tent on your own you need a little bit of strength to pump up 4 sections. If you’re after a slightly smaller tent, there are Berghaus Air 4 and Berghaus Air 6.1 versions available.

After a couple of trips away with this tent, we did decided to add the Air Porch to it. Why? Because we love camping, we do quite a lot of it and intend to do a lot more. We just decided that a little bit more space would make a big difference, and we were right. The air pressure for the Berghaus Air 8 inflatable family tent should be between 4psi and 7psi. How easy is it to take down the Berghaus Air 8 tent?

Absolutely love the tent. With both bedrooms up there isn't that much living space, but we only used one, so we had plenty of space, plus the porch was used for the table and all our cooking stuff, so that gave us a lot more room. It has a hook for a light in the middle of the tent and in each bedroom. The thing I liked was the Velcro to strap in any loose wires from the ceiling so the could safely reach your electrical point. It was a replacement for a Vango Samara which was a good tent, but for some reason, it suffered from the wind and sometimes badly.
