Just Good Friends" presents a unique perspective through a first-person narrative where a woman recounts how she met her boyfriend. The surprising revelation at the end is that the narrator is actually a cat. Archer says that ten of the dozen stories in this volume are based on true incidents. The tales are quite ordinary, but each has the promised "twist" in the end. Like everything Archer writes, I give the book 4 stars because I can't stop reading whatever he writes. These are the 12 stort stories contained in this volume: The rest of Saturday seemed interminable but my wife’s Sunday Express finally brought me some relief. There are twelve short stories in A Twist in the Tale, with each promising a twist at the end. The first story, “A Perfect Murder,” follows a man who believes he’s committed the perfect crime. The man is a writer who kills his mistress one evening during a heated argument. He kills her because he discovers that she’s been unfaithful to him. He refuses to go to jail for what he’s done, and so he concocts a plan to lay the blame on the other man. The Wine Taster" introduces an insufferable man who inherits both wealth and a wine cellar from his ancestors. Despite his limited knowledge of wines, he boasts about his expertise. In a futuristic world, humans are fighting against robots to keep their race alive. However, it turns out that everyone is a robot anyway and the true human race died out years ago.

I couldn't believe that Carla had slept with another man, that she had lied about her love for me—and that I might be second or even third in her estimation. I know it’s easy enough for you to jump into bed with me whenever it suits you. That’s all I’m good for, isn’t it?” I was disappointed. It had been another depressing day, and now I was being asked to forgo the one thing that would have made it bearable. A Twist in the Tale is a 1988 collection of short stories by British author and politician Jeffrey Archer. [1] The collection contains 12 stories, which are listed below. Not fair? Weren’t you hoping for your usual at six so you could still be home at seven in time for supper with Elizabeth?” I’ll have coffee with whom I damn well please,” she said, “and wearing what I damn well please, especially when you are on your way home to your wife.”

The writer kills his mistress inadvertently during an argument when he finds her being unfaithful to him, and is chosen as a jury member to try a man accused of murdering the same woman. He, as the foreman of the jury, pronounces a guilty verdict on the accused — thereby exonerating himself completely. Good to see you in the office on a Saturday morning,” said the managing director grimly as he passed my door. “Soon as you’re finished whatever you’ re doing I’d like a word with you.” An alien creature comes to Earth to escape his prison sentence on his home planet. Soon he discovers that he is actually doing his prison sentence on Earth. The main character finds out that their family is not their real family. As an avid reader of Archer's works, I consistently find myself engrossed, which is why I wholeheartedly give this book a four-star rating. Let's explore the intriguing contents of this collection:

I took off my watch and placed it in front of me. I had read somewhere that the location of a telephone call can be traced in about three minutes.C The main growth area has been the market for eight to fourteen-year-olds, and there is little doubt that the boom has been fuelled by the bespectacled apprentice, Harry Potter. So influential has J. K. Rowling’s series of books been that they have helped to make reading fashionable for pre-teens. ‘Harry made it OK to be seen on a bus reading a book,’ says Cooling. ‘To a child, that is important.’ The current buzz around the publication of the fourth Harry Potter beats anything in the world of adult literature. A famous actor who is now a ‘has been’ discovers that he was actually kidnapped, and forced to be a star. Otherwise, he was just an ordinary office worker. The main character wakes up one morning to discover that they have been asleep in a coma for years and that they have been dreaming about their life for years. After years of not believing, you find out that Santa Clause was actually real. More Santa prompts on our Christmas writing prompts advent calendar post.
