The fourth Nightmare, The Dream Master, is the funniest of the series, swapping scares for glossy visual effects and a severely jokey tone. This was the height of the Nightmare craze, and while the film attempts to push some boundaries, it also feels a bit like a parody on some levels. Thankfully, the story does manage to balance character with plot, and it never really feels like the story introduces characters just to kill them off.
