About this deal

The Sony 70-300mm is optically superb, as good in actual use as the 70-200/4 G, 70-200/2.8 GM or 100-400 GM. With the “Nikon Z mount system” compatible version, users can employ the dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility software that was developed in-house by TAMRON [2]. This feature enables users to easily update the lens to the latest firmware themselves, without going through the camera [3]. On the firmware information screen, users can confirm that their lens has the latest version and perform an update if newer firmware is available. Seeking the best printer for your business? The 70-300mm F4-5.6 is also very well-suited to video capture. Not only does it include very effective 5.5-stop image stabilization, its autofocus drive is also silent, ensuring that AF operation won't disrupt your audio. And you don't need to worry about focus breathing, either. There's just a little bit at the 70mm wide-angle, and it's very minimal indeed by the 300mm telephoto. Bokeh, the feel or quality of out-of-focus areas as opposed to how far out of focus they are, is beautiful. Nothing distracts:

FTM (Full Time Manual) focus is not provided - you must switch the lens to MF (Manual Focus) mode to manually focus the lens. Tamron has announced their first-ever lens for the Nikon Z system (not counting the Nikon Z 28-75mm f/2.8 that was… heavily inspired, let’s say, by Tamron’s version of the lens). It’s a 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3, the same as their existing Sony E lens, and it fills one of the most glaring holes in Nikon’s lens lineup. The Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3Di III RXD for Nikon Z

Near the corners, bokeh suffers from heavy cat's eye effect when shooting wide-open. Stopping down just a little improves the situation significantly, however. Onion ring effect is visible even in diffuse specular highlights. Unfortunately, lenses don’t come in low price, and for beginners or even proficient photographers, it will put an effort to end a wide range of lenses.

Fujinon XF70-300 Build and Handling

And that leaves only one real alternative: Fujifilm's pro-grade 100-400mm. Given its much greater size, weight and cost, that lens will simply be overkill for most X-mount shooters. As seen above, the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens has a short MFD (Minimum Focus distance) and delivers a MM (Maximum Magnification) similar to that of the Stopping down 1 stop makes a bigger difference in sharpness on the 70-300 than it does on the 55-250 - and this gives the 70-300 a bigger edge at these apertures.
