About this deal

Gluten free tuna pasta bake– this is a simple recipe to switch to gluten free – just be sure to use gluten free ingredients. This recipe will keep for a couple of days as long as you keep it in an air tight container and I suggest putting it in the fridge as well to keep it nice and fresh! If you want to best results, eat it right away but it still tastes good for lunch the next day and let’s face it, good slimming world lunches are hard to find! Cheese: Use your favorite shredded cheese. We tend to use cheddar or mozzarella, but any shredded cheese can work. You can also easily make the dish dairy free by using a dairy free cheese alternative. Garlic – I use large garlic as it adds lots of flavour easily. If you use small, you may wish to increase the amount of cloves to better the flavour.

Extra light cream cheese (such as Philadelphia) which is 1.5 syns per 25g making it .25 syns per serving (I say that’s almost none). Alternatively you can use Dairylea or Laughing Cow cheese which is free but the taste is quite different. Cheese – Cheddar is always my favourite for this (well, I am English!). You can swap for whatever you have in your fridge to add a different flavour dynamic though. Onion – Regular white/yellow onion works perfectly here but there’s no reason you can’t use other varieties intead. You can store leftovers from your air fryer pasta bake in an airtight container in the fridge overnight and eat cold next day. Just be sure to cool the pasta within an 1-2 hours of cooking. What To Serve With Pasta Bake Oh, just to be clear – it’s normal human tuna. Whatever is on special at the time, and I get the little cans so I had to use a bunch of them to make this big batch of Tuna Pasta Bake.

Wooden Spatula – to move your ingredients around the pan so they don’t catch and burn on the bottom/cook evenly.

So if you’re making this slimming world tuna pasta bake recipe you’re going to want to know how many syns are in there in total. Well if you’re a family of 4, each potion is going to be 0.5 syns as the whole recipe only has 4 syns in it!! (Correct on 29/06/2021). Most of that is the cheese as well! Tomato Purée From Concentrate (74%), Tomatoes (11%), Onions (4%), Rapeseed Oil, Modified Maize Starch, Sugar, Water, Basil, Dried Cheese (𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐤, 𝐄𝐠𝐠), Pasteurised 𝐄𝐠𝐠 Yolk Powder, Salt, Concentrated Lemon Juice, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid; Onion Powder, Stabiliser:Xanthan Gum; Garlic Purée, Colour: Paprika Extract. Pasta sauce. Honestly, you can use a jar of your favorite tomato sauce (plain thinner tomato puree without spices and herbs), passata, marinara, spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce when putting together this recipe. If using spaghetti sauce, just make sure to measure out how much you need as it usually comes in a larger jar than pizza sauce. You don’t want to leave your tuna swimming in the casserole from too much sauce! Tinned Tomatoes – Cheap brands of tinned chopped tomatoes will work very well but if you want the best flavour, stretch to a better brand if you can afford it. Oregano – If you don’t have oregano, other varieties will work great too. Try Italian seasoning or dried basil.Soften a chopped onion in a large frying pan. Add chopped peppers, tuna fish, salt, pepper, garlic, tomato puree and oregano and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Tuna – A good tuna will make the world of difference in this dish as it’s a key flavour. Use the best you can afford. (Although cheap ones still taste good!)

Gluten free option:

The thing I love about the tuna pasta bake is that it’s so affordable. Filling meals don’t have to be super expensive and this tuna pasta bake recipe shows that! You can find the cost breakdown below in the recipe card, but when you think about it, some tuna, pasta, sauace (jar if you want) and some cheese is nothing and it feeds many.

Place half the passata in a bowl with the cream cheese and whisk until fairly well combined. Stir into the drained pasta and vegetables.

A large pot or pan .Make sure that you’re using the right size of pot or pan, as you’ll be mixing all of the ingredients in it after making the sauce. Garnish. Serve with more olives, cherry tomatoes or sundried tomatoes, fresh or dried herbs, grated parmesan cheese. Add a crunchy topping! – top with a scattering of breadcrumbs or even crushed up ready salted crisps mingled in with the cheese for a crunchy topping. Fresh basil or parsley. I have potted herbs on standby but if you haven’t got any then you can use 1-2 teaspoons Italian Herb Mix.
