How well it clumped (when applicable) –when testing a clumping litter, we syringed 100ml of water into it. We then left it for 15 minutes to see how well it clumped. Cat litter comes in a huge variety of types, some of which will suit your cat and some of which won’t. What all cats do have in common is fastidious cleanliness, so they’ll always appreciate a carefully-cleaned, freshly-filled tray. Without it, accidents can occur, especially if your cat is very young or old, or hasn’t been well. Please do not buy this product if you are expecting to have zero dust as all 100% natural soy/corn-based products will have natural dust. Otherwise, we will have to add CHEMICALS to bind the particles together or make them much BIGGER, which will reduce the absorption/clumping and odour control capability. Since it's made from natural ingredients and contains no toxins, you won't need to worry if your cat ends up eating some of it (just make sure they're not scoffing loads and that no artificial additives have been added). On the flip side, litters that don’t clump are cheaper and often contain less dust. And there’s no risk of it expanding in your cat’s stomach if they eat it.
Wood – wood litter such as pine or cedar comes in the form of either fine shavings or pellets. Wood cat litter is generally made from recycled materials. This often has a pleasant natural smell and is highly absorbent. This litter does not clump although you can find clumping varieties. Wood-based cat litter needs to be changed frequently.
