It is built of plastic, and its design is just as sleek as the kettle’s body. When the base is on the counter, all you’ll see at first glance is the circular LCD and a button/dial combo. Electric kettles don’t get too dirty—after all, you’re only boiling water—but it’s important to clean them occasionally to prevent mineral deposits from building up inside. Once a month, fill your kettle with one part white vinegar and two parts water, then bring the mixture to a boil. Let the kettle soak for 30 minutes or so to break down limescale and other minerals that may have gathered on the inside of the kettle.
