About this deal

I can say the Bullet Strat has a great value that won’t require you to spend your savings. And you will get great, easy playing experiences with some nice extras (like the tremolo bridge) to begin your musical journey.

I highly recommend this for children mostly because it looks and feels like a Stracosater, and kids somehow interested in music have probably seen Stratocaster guitars plenty of times in music videos and TV concerts. Because they will recognize it, and because its stylish looks, it’s an instantly attractive guitar for children that can also feel very comfortable on small hands. What you’ll love, though, is how comfortable it feels when you play it, and while it doesn’t have the cleanest tone or the highest range, it works really well. Aside from those few shortcomings, the Squier Bullet Stratocaster is a solid electric guitar in most ways. The Bullet Mustang - like all Mustangs - is what we’d consider to be a ‘short scale’ guitar. This means that the scale length - the distance between the bridge saddles and the nut of the guitar - is shorter than the usual Fender-style scale length of 25.5” by an inch and a half. It doesn’t seem a lot, but it makes a notable difference to the string tension, and makes the guitar feel a bit easier to play as a result. There’s also less distance between frets - something which will suit smaller players well. If you’ve got big hands you might struggle, but fear not - there’s plenty of full-scale options on the market too.

Mike has got so many other wonderful Strats, but he also loves using these Indonesian-made Squier Bullet Stratocasters. He can’t put the Sonic Grey one down. It’s the first guitar he wants to play every day and he uses it for some big songs in the Genesis set including No Son of Mine and Mama. A similar alternative by Squier is the Affinity series, which is built on better quality parts than Bullet instruments but still sells at reasonable prices. These guitars are seriously cool, and as Squier likes to change around their models every couple of years, they could also become pretty rare. FSR This guitar is designed to be affordable, so some parts and components had to be changed, resulting in slightly lower sound quality from the original Stratocaster. Here’s an interesting tip: many professionals have invested in the Squier Bullet series so they can smash it in public for a ripping show. So that means it has a good enough tone to play live and, if you have the money and the guts, it’s cheap enough to destroy on the stage and impress the fans. However, because it has three single-coils, I wouldn’t recommend this guitar for genres requiring much distortion like heavy metal. Instead, you can couple this guitar with a budget overdrive pedal and see amazing results. The Squier Bullet Stratocaster gives you a great bargain for its playability, appearance, and sound. And you will get great, easy playing experiences with some nice extras (like the tremolo bridge) to begin your musical journey. In summary, I can say the Squier Bullet Stratocaster was built with a single purpose: to be a beginner’s guitar. Its shortlist of limitations won’t be even important for a beginner guitar player, much less for children. Beginner Guitar HQ The Squier Bullet Stratocaster is his [Rutherford's] favorite at the moment, it really is,” Prior told Guitar Player in an interview. “And I’ve just bought him a couple of others which I’ve found rather cheaply in the clearance section atGuitar Guitar in Newcastle[England]. They were only about 100 quid each! I mean they’re unbelievably good guitars for the money."

There are some qualms and questions surrounding the build quality of guitars made in the Far East over those made in the US and Mexico - and while those qualms may have been entirely valid five to ten years ago, nowadays, not so much. We’d argue, in fact, that if you spend Squier money on a guitar made in the US, it wouldn’t be that great - as the cost of labour and manufacturing would bump up the price of a cheap guitar considerably. This HSS configuration can give you a little bit more versatility and a bit more power necessary for grittier genres. In addition to this, the Squier Bullet Stratocaster also features a tremolo bridge which lets you use a whammy bar if that’s your thing. Again, absolute beginners can leave the tremolo bridge completely alone, if they wish, but it is there if you want to start messing around with things. Tremolo bridges aren’t exactly common on cheap guitars either, so this is a nice feature to have at your disposal. Can You Modify The Squier Bullet Stratocaster? The hardware in starter guitars can be one of the worst components—thankfully Squier doesn’t cheap out here. The Squier Bullet Special [ edit ] All factory colors for the Squier Bullet Special. All of these examples have been modified by the owner.Sure, it’s fun to play and has a taste of that signature Fender tone—but its poor build quality bothers me. The Squier Bullet Stratocaster runs a die-cast tuner inspired by Fender Stratocaster’s original tuners. This is a slightly more complex tuner than you’ll find on other beginner guitars, but once you’ve gotten used to it works great and it does hold tune really well –better than some of my more expensive guitars, in fact. Kids just want something that looks cool and works. And the Bullet series can do so much more than this. Squier guitars are hugely popular among beginning and intermediate players, because they give you access to Fender instruments at a budget price. Naturally, that does mean some sacrifices. Which one of these two series is better depends entirely on you. The Affinity is the better guitar, but it also costs more. In terms of value, they are basically equal.

The Affinity Stratocaster has a fingerboard made of Indian laurel — which is similar to rosewood though not as expensive, with twenty-one medium jumbo frets and period dot inlays that are easy for studying bending and bar chords. Not having a tremolo bridge definitely makes the guitar less versatile. But tremolo bridges are harder to string and the take the instrument out of tune more easily. Hardtail bridges are often a better choice for beginners. Read about the different types of electric guitar bridges for more on this. The first - and main difference - is that they're built in different places. While production began in Japan, Squier guitars are now manufactured in China and Indonesia - as opposed to Fender guitars hailing from Mexico, Japan and the US. This enables Fender to produce Squier guitars at a much lower cost - and therefore, sell them to you at a lower retail price. All Squier Bullet Special guitars were made in Indonesia at the Cort factory. The serial numbers start with IC followed by two digits that designate the year the guitar was made. The remaining digits indicate month of production, color, and sequence. IC02xxxxxxx indicates a guitar made in 2002. [5] [ unreliable source?] Bullet Strings [ edit ]

Squier's Contemporary series is another more recent addition to the roster, and offers a range of modern takes on classic guitars that we've not seen before from Squier. You'd be mistaken for thinking that there's plenty of hot-rodded Strats on the market already, but at this price point, there's definitely room for one more.
