An exciting, fast, satisfying read.” Eurocrime “One of the most fiendishly clever crime fiction plotters. (Daily Mail)

The Roy Grace series is the most famous and prominent book series written by Peter James. This series also established him as a writer and allowed him to create this massive 18-book series. In 2005 The Merchant of Venice, directed by Michael Radford and for which James was executive producer, had a royal premiere in the presence of Prince Charles and received a BAFTA Award nomination. In 2006 the film also won the Silver Ribbon for Best Production Design ( Migliore Scenografia) from the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists. Roy Grace is also different in that he will use anything and everything available to him to solve a case. He will use basics like pathology analysis and forensics, to mediums as far off the beaten path as the paranormal, getting input from mediums and clairvoyants about his work. Grace has his own belief system in ghosts and things that go bump in the night, and he brings that into his cases. The classic story of a family moving to a new, large but scary manor due to monetary constraint is what James has used in The House on Cold Hill, but with his unique take on it.Peter James was a heavy spokesperson for eBooks, and in 1996 he found himself on stage speaking at a conference at UCLA speaking on the topic of the future of reading. Some other spokesmen on that very conference were Steve Jobs and the Time Warner CEO.

James became a successful producer of 26 films. The first movie he produced was 1971’s The Corpse Grinders. In addition to Corpse Grinders, Peter James has also produced such movies as Under Milk Wood, Dead of Night, Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things, Spanish Fly, Jericho Mansions, Head in the Clouds, and The Bridge of San Luis Rey. He was the executive producer of 2004’s take on Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. Who is behind the murder? No one knows.Dead Man’s Time is a very neatly written revenge story wrapped in thriller and mystery, and it is so enjoyable. There doesn't seem to be an upcoming book in The Roy Grace Series. The newest book is Stop Them Dead and was released on September, 28th 2023. Dead Man’s Time calls Roy Grace in once more. This time it’s for a burglary that has taken over a million pounds worth of loot. It has also left an elderly man who lives there dying. As Grace shows up on the scene, it’s clear that the family does not care so much about the valuables so much as one valuable in particular. They will do anything to get it. They don’t care about breaking the law and Grace is thrown into a hot pursuit that takes him through Europe and eventually all the way to New York. Dead Simple takes no time to introduce the exciting plot and characters. We can guarantee the readers will feel the constant presence of mystery and try to figure out the hidden things in the plot.
