It’s Super Easy- This is a recipe I can make with my eye closed! Seriously, anyone can make this recipe! While the texture of vegetables might change slightly upon thawing, you can freeze leftover pepper steak in an airtight container for up to 2-3 months. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave. Absolutely! Substitute soy sauce with tamari or gluten-free soy sauce, and ensure that any other sauces used are gluten-free. Serve it over rice or gluten-free noodles for a complete meal.

Vegetables – I used a green and red pepper, and a yellow onion. You can use peppers in other colors or other types of onions, or even caramelized onions. Slice them all into thin strips. Feel free to add other veggies, too! Mushrooms, carrots, asparagus, baby corn, broccoli, or snap peas would all work well. Sugar: Regular white sugar is all you need, though you could use raw cane sugar, brown sugar, honey, or a sugar alternative (like erythritol) if preferred. Adjust the amount to taste, as each type will differ in flavor and sweetness. Roll out the remaining sheets of pastry so they’re slightly larger than the bases. Put them on top of the steak filling and press the edges together with a fork. Score the top if you like, using a butter knife (don’t cut all the way through). Brush the whole thing with beaten egg and cook for 20-25 mins until golden.
