About this deal

It works to repair hair strands using what Revolution calls a triple molecular weight protein cascade system. This infuses the hair shaft with protein to help repair bonds. Image: Revolution This oil taken from the seeds of the sunflower is high in Vitamins A, C, and D. It provides the hair with rich nutrients, and it also has a lot of antioxidants. This repairs damage to the hair. A study published in the International Journal of Nutrition discussed the molecular composition and health benefits of sunflower seed oil. How Does Olaplex No. 5 Conditioner Work? Water (Aqua/Eau) , Cetearyl Alcohol , Dimethicone , Isohexadecane , Coco-Caprylate , Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate , Behentrimonium Chloride, Isododecane , Phenyl Trimethicone , Propanediol , Fragrance (Parfum) , Cetrimonium Chloride , Phenoxyethanol , Glyceryl Stearate , Isopropyl Alcohol , Hydroxyethylcellulose , Hydroxypropyl Guar , Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate , Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin , Hexyl Cinnamal , Limonene , Citral , Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol , Disodium EDTA , Linalool , Citronellol , Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate , Gigartina Stellata Extract , Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract , Hydroxycitronellal, Etidronic Acid, Tocopherol, Geraniol, Potassium Sorbate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Ascorbic Acid, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Phytantriol, Pseudozyma Epicola/Camellia, Sinensis Seed Oil Ferment Extract Filtrate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Panthenol, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate OLAPLEX will strengthen straight hair, improving manageability, movement and shine. The condition of the hair won’t be compromised using thermal styling options such as curling irons, hot rollers, etc. when the hair is treated prior with OLAPLEX. UV damage from the sun, humidity, extreme hot/cold weather conditioners, pollution, etc. all have a negative impact on the hair’s bonds.

As someone with fine, low-porosity hair, I always struggle to find a volumising product that works for me. It's not often they deliver the same result as shown on the model, or they’ll leave a residue that feels a little crispy once dried. There are also a few new Olaplex launches outside of the treatment realm that have been met with fanfare, including the new volumising mist and lash serum. So, here's a run-down of all the different products. Olaplex No.1 Bond Multiplier Editor's note: Olaplex came under fire in 2022 after customers claimed the product caused breakage and hair loss— and a lawsuit alleged that the company didn't disclose the fertility-related health risks linked to an ingredient in the product. Despite using "a trace amount of lilial" at a 0.01% concentration, which the company claims isn't a harmful amount, it has since been phased out of the formula. But despite the acclaim, there still seems to be a little confusion around what the products actually do. We'll clear things up: Unlike other hair treatments that add moisture and shine to the outer layers of damaged hair (pretty straightforward stuff), Olaplex works on the molecular level to repair the disulfide bonds that give hair its strength and break through heat-styling, color, and chemical treatments—and was the first brand to make this bond-building technology available in an at-home treatment. (The secret? A little active ingredient called bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate.)What has kept me hooked is the undetectable and surprisingly lightweight spray. No matter how many times I spritz, it never settles or clings to my roots (which is one of my major pet peeves). Once blow-dried, I am always stunned by the lift and body it brings to my limp lengths; my hair looks plump at the roots and flows down the sides of my face with a bouncy wave. Aldi recently brought out its range called Bonded, which comes under the brand’s beauty line Lacura. Whatever you do, do not use their products. I used olaplex years ago and didn’t seem to have any problems that I noticed, however after buying and using it recently I noticed my scalp became extremely red, itchy and irritated. My hair felt so dry and brittle and started thinning and breaking a lot!!

The overall internal structure resembles ladders that have been twisted into a shape resembling a multi-fiber cable called microfibrils. These then combine to form macrofibrils which are contained in the cortex. These “cables” stay in alignment, resisting twisting and bending, as a result of disulfide bonds. They are held together in the cortex with a microcellular cement that also contains an abundance of disulfide bonds. The before and after photos can practically do the talking, but suffice it to say I was more impressed than ever when after just one use, my blow-dried hair was suddenly shiny, soft, and frizz-free again.
