About this deal

The in-game world is absolutely charming. You can play as a number of cute dog characters, and get to explore a vibrant, retro world with pixelated graphics. There are 20 different courses to work through in the single player campaign, each with a unique style and theme. Could it be better? Definitely! Hopefully they will include some courses and fix the bugs at a later point, but for now I'm just trying to get my swing together and learn how to play.

There is not too much of a storyline to follow along with in this game, aside from a note-based story between two interesting characters. The world design is what really makes A Little Golf Journey stand out, though. It’s absolutely beautiful, containing 9 unique islands to explore. The world themes are truly interesting, with everything from ruined castles to enchanted forests. There are difficulty settings so you can adjust the game to suit you (we won’t judge if you prefer an easy win), and, like any golf game on Switch should have, Neo Turf Masters has multiplayer options. You can either battle it out with players around the world for a high score, or get a friend to join you locally for a two-played battle. It might not look quite as realistic as some of its more modern counterparts, but Neo Turf Masters has a whole lot of charm all the same. 8. Infinite Minigolf

The shell-shielded Koopa Troopa and nimble Ninji dash (and glide) across the green in the latest free update to the Mario Golf: Super Rush game. Koopa Troopa can make the ball bounce several times and Ninji can use Glide Dash and float over opponents on the way to the next hole. Chill out on the snowy Blustery Basin course as you navigate mountains and avoid blizzards. Stay sharp on the Spiky Palms course, a desert oasis with plenty of perilous points. Take it easy or give yourself a challenge with the newly added ability to change the CPU skill level! The game mechanics in Golf Peaks are deceptively simple. The aim of the game is to get the ball in the hole in as few moves as possible, but there’s a layer of intrigue added with a card mechanic that dictates how many spaces you can move in one go. As the game develops, you’ll have to contend with more puzzles, styles of shot and obstacles.

One of my favorite things about this title is the party mode, which allows you to split the screen down the middle and play a game with a friend. It’s unfortunate that it only stretches to two players, but the format works well and it makes for an enjoyable experience. What the Golf is a title that has almost nothing to do with traditional golf. It follows the premise of hitting a ball into a hole, but gets progressively sillier and quirkier as you progress. The simple graphics style is charming and works perfectly with the tone of the game, and it plays incredibly smoothly on the Nintendo Switch too.My biggest problem is that it's signing out so many times even though my internet is okay. It's so frustrating. It also takes a long time to find other players to play against. Then suddenly on hole 4 you're signed out... Infinite Minigolf is a premium example of a modern mini golf game for the Switch. It’s a great party game, and offers lots of solo play options as well. It plays well, the controls aren’t too complex and the user generated maps make it very enjoyable to play through. What the Golf? Infinite Minigolf is a lighthearted, arcade style game that has plenty of game modes and content to keep you occupied. There are solo tournaments and maps to explore, and plenty of multiplayer options as well. Golf! With explosions! That’s pretty much the elevator pitch for Super Inefficient Golf, and honestly, what else do you need to know? It’s not exactly a realistic golf sim, but it is one of the most fun golf games out there, and is great fun to play with friends.

Now, Golf Club Wasteland isn’t exactly a traditional golfing game. It does, however, require you to consider the trajectory of your ball, hit with the appropriate amount of power, and try to get in the hole as efficiently as possible. But rather than playing on a green, you’re instead playing on an apocalyptic wasteland. This is Earth, in the future, when all it is good for is a rich man’s crazy golf course. This is what makes it one of my favorite sports games on the Nintendo Switch. It’s incredibly simple, sure, but it pulls off this simplicity with style. This game is all about speed, precision and decision-making. Compete in tournament mode on random maps with different rules. Score as many points as possible by hitting the ball in the center of the target, be first in a race to hit the ball into the hole before others do, or find the best way to beat everyone in a mini-golf with various obstacles! The general premise behind Golf Club: Wasteland is that you’re a solo golfer named Charley who is playing the world’s last game of golf. Earth has been abandoned, with all the rich people moving to Mars, and the 35 unique courses that you play through in this game show off the desolate landscapes and empty buildings left behind. Want to sprint a golf course or two with Mario and chums? You can do that in Mario Golf: Super Rush. The latest entry in the Mario Golf series, Super Rush features an adventure mode in which you import or create a Mii before embarking on a journey of golf enlightenment. Unfortunately it’s not very long, but it’s fairly fun while it lasts and is a good way to learn the game’s mechanics. Outside of adventure mode, there’s a single player challenge mode, and of course you can play a game of golf against friends, either online or offline.Golf games might not be quite as popular as they used to be. We had a drought for years with no official PGA game. And we had to wait far longer than we’d have liked for a new Mario Golf game. But all that said, there’s still a healthy selection of golf games on Nintendo Switch, and we’ve rounded up the best of them right here. Typically most sports games are fast-paced and intense, but Infinite Golf 2 is a breath of fresh air. There is a limited multiplayer option available, for two players only. It would have been great to see this title include even more multiplayer options, but the two player option works well and is enjoyable to play through with a friend.

Why? Well, it’s clearly been designed with love, and with only one goal in mind: for its players to have a riotous, hilarious time. At first glance it might look like a normal golfing game, and indeed, your goal is always to get something to the flag on the green. We say ‘something’ because rarely is it a regular golf ball you’re putting. Fling a golf club across the screen? That’s more like it in What the Golf?. The best levels are those that poke fun at other games: we love the levels based on SUPERHOT and Angry Birds. If you’re yet to play this, do so pronto. If you’re looking for a hardcore, technical game that requires lots of skill, this isn’t the game for you. However, if you’re hunting for a slightly strange take on a classic game, I’d suggest adding What the Golf to your Switch library immediately. Golf PeaksIf you don't want to play solo, you can always invite your friends or family to play in the multiplayer mode! Choose your character skins, golf clubs and compete in a tournament for the title of the best golfer! This is one of my favorite games on the list by far. It’s fun and offers a unique POV on the golf video game niche, creating an enjoyable experience for anyone who’s a fan of the RPG genre. Party Golf Command your Clubhouse with Online Societies. Run full seasons and tournaments and earn bragging rights on the course. Create entry rules and requirements as well as handicap and event settings. Aside from the story and RPG elements, the simple golfing in Golf Story is excellent, too. Its wonderful 2D pixelated graphics make this feel like a SNES classic, and its simple golfing mechanics are easy to get to grips with. Sending your ball flying up the fairway has never been so satisfying. It might be far from your traditional golf game, but it’s still one of the best on Nintendo Switch by far.
