About this deal

Wi-Fi/Ethernet offloading capabilities so your device connections move from the car (LTE) to your hotel’s internet We also recommend doing a walk test of the location to find the strongest cellular signal, which will generally result in best performance. Another method is to use your smartphone as a guide - wherever you tend you have the best cellular performance (i.e., voice quality and/or data service), your NETGEAR mobile router will often also work best in those locations. and Dual-Band 2.4GHz/5GHz dual concurrent Wi-Fi for increased network performance and reduced interference Actual data throughput and wireless coverage will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate and wireless coverage. NETGEAR makes no express or implied representations or warranties about this product’s compatibility with any future standards. This hotspot connect on two networks 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Not 5G as 3G and 4G. 2.4 and 5 Ghz are bandwith like if you have a cordless phone/ wireless heaphones etc. for me the 5 Ghz is faster that the 2.4 but sometime causes interference/noise in my headphones. You can use both wifi and Rj45 cable.

For our review, we didn’t reach speeds anywhere near 1Gbps – but the headroom is there when the network catches up with this device’s stunning capabilities – and it’s not far off. Also you can add a MIMO antenna with TS9 connectors to maximize the reception. I bought one but I haven't notice a huge difference for now that I am in town but more in the rural area, this might help.

The Netgear Nighthawk M1 is a bit larger than your regular mobile hotspot – but this isn’t a regular hotspot. It’s a mobile router. We were connected to the M1 all day through a laptop, tablet and smartphone and still had about 35 per cent battery left at the end of the day. That upload speed is pretty impressive when you consider the upload speed on our Optus cable home broadband connection rarely gets over 2Mbps.

A mobile WiFi hotspot is a portable device, providing internet access on the go. A WiFi WiFi router or access point, connected to a cellular internet service provider. The hotspot broadcasts a signal which allows people near the device to connect their wireless enabled devices to the internet. A "Mobile Router" is a powerful WiFi Hotspot with an included Ethernet port enabling connections for local wired devices. Mobile WiFi hotspot allows you the comfort of having internet access anywhere, anytime. NETGEAR offers a range of top quality mobile WiFi solutions, including mobile hotspots, such as the Nighthawk M6 5G WiFi 6 Mobile Router which provides you with maximum flexibility and top level performance. EE is the only UK operator to provide the advanced 4G+ network speeds that can deliver the full capability of the Nighthawk M1’s ‘Cat 16’ specification. EE started offering these speeds earlier this summer in London’s Tech City and Cardiff, and they are being rolled out across Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. This summer, EE demonstrated real world 4G+ speeds of 429Mbps in Cardiff city centre using a ‘Cat 16’ smartphone, and the NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 is the first 4G WiFi device able to access these speeds. Press and hold the Power button on your M6 until NETGEAR displays M6 will boot up automatically and reboot if the ethernet port had not been manually enabled previously. Our speed tests in the Sydney CBD produced wildly different results. Our highest speeds were 293.48 Mbps (in Martin Place) and 146.21 Mbps (on the Martin Place side of the Pitt St Mall) with upload speeds of 37Mbps and 23Mbps respectively.

While this is a critical review of some features, please take away that this is an excellent device that far exceeds the capabilities of almost ANY device on the market - and it has unicorn features such as the ethernet port. Plus, Netgear has a reputation of steadfast reliable and stable devices.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your mobile hotspot is set to the default Power Mode (Balanced) and you remove the battery. The mobile hotspot will reboot twice. This is normal operation for the mobile hotspot to transition from Balanced to Best Performance and Range. The mobile hotspot will also reboot twice when you install the battery. This is normal operation for the mobile hotspot to transition from Best Performance and Range to Balanced. Netgear MR1100 - ok for travel, best for stationary location like a home. Ethernet port - best option ever! On both these plans, customers are able to benefit from data caps – so they never go over their data allowance by accident, as well as UK & Ireland call centre support. Where I live, my only choices for high speed internet is dsl with a phone company that will never get my business again, or over cel phone towers. This router, along with a 3rd party ISP (NOT the isp these are branded for) works great for home internet that can be taken along while traveling. Anywhere there is cel phone service I have internet service.

EE also has the biggest 4G+ network in the UK, providing faster 4G speeds across more than 150 towns and cities. I bought this in preparation for an Arizona snowbird trip next month. Not getting any answers from the RV parks in Arizona I decided to find my own solution. 4G is plenty fast for myself. At any rate my cell carrier limits me to 60GB per month, with the threat of throttling my speed if I surpass that. I probably will based on what I use now, about 3GB per day. Any product that can keep us connected at high speed on the go will always be popular. Meet the Netgear Nighthawk M1 – a mobile router that’s so fast you might need to wear a seatbelt. The M1 also has a regular Type A USB port and a USB-C port and an Ethernet port so you connect other devices and stream content from USB drives and external hard drives. This device is a collaboration between Netgear and Telstra while under the hood Qualcomm has weighed in with the Snapdragon X16 LTE modem that supports faster data throughput on all areas of the Telstra LTE network.

The Nighthawk M1 features a data usage meter, enabling customers to simply monitor their data, and with a 5040mAh battery, the device can charge mobile devices through the integrated USB port. The NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 can be controlled via an intuitive app, complete with parental controls. So far I have setup 6 of these for friends and family in a rural Northern California area. These people were either on Hughesnet satellite, bridged Network’s or at the end of DSL lines where max speeds were 3m down and 256k up and streaming Netflix was impossible. Everyone is ecstatic with this device and constantly tell me how happy they are with this setup. We recommend placing your NETGEAR mobile hotspot as close to a window as possible, with few obstructions. You may receive a stronger signal in certain parts of the dwelling where you intend to use your mobile hotspot.I would personally recommend that Netgear start marketing this device aggressively in the trailer/motorhome marketplaces.
