About this deal

This Primaris Space Marine Hellblaster is a classic matte grey figure to allow the consumer to paint and customize their figure like classic Warhammer 40k minifigures The artists proof is a better model in that we finally have a Mcfarlane sculpt with a face, and it looks pretty decent to boot. As a separate line within the McFarlane ecosystem, they offer models under the branding – “Gold Label Collection”. I could regurgitate all of Mcfarlane’s mumbo-jumbo or you can just read it here.

The Aquilla appropriately has the blood drop icon specific to this chapter, the Left Shoulder pad has a sculpted Faction Logo and this guy also has a blood drop relic hanging from his belt. Once this stage was done, it was time to add weathering to the model. I used Rhinox Hide for most of this process, first adding a more watered-down mix with a brush to some of the deeper recesses of the miniature, then dragging that mix down in areas to create dirty drips. I really like this. it’s dynamically posed, joints look well hidden and it is incredibly detailed. the paint job looks solid. sure the final version will be of lower quality, but this still looks pretty darn good.

Want to learn more about painting your own figure? Learn the basics of brush care, setting up your area, thinning your paints and more with the Warhammer Community The Gauss Flayer looks like it has warped along the barrel, but this is something I’m used to with McFarlane Models as the plastic/resin is quite soft and bendy I’d say vote with your wallets, but my worry is that if sales dry up for these figures because of a daft marketing decision, will it be taken as — nobody wants GW Action figures? The Aquilla matches the above Hellblaster. The Blood Drop relic has been changed and has also switched sides. I think I’d really have liked to see this have a swappable head, one with an actual face. But hey, maybe that’s just me? McFarlane Gold Label Blood Angel’s Lieutenant

What is it about third parties and Aquilas? (the Chest Wings). Why can’t anyone get them to match the dimensions we already have? GW has the 3d Model of A Space Marine chest, just use that. This is one part of the model that puts me off. Why couldn’t they just make it the same but bigger! As I walked into Warhammer Chesterfield last week, there were as many Gold Label Warhammer models available as there was everything else (on day of release). Hot on the heels of Games Workshop’s Bandai Space Marines. Gdubyas partnered up with Mcfarlane toys to create a line of Acton figures. These are far more affordable than the Bandai varients at 1/3rd the cost. The Artists’ Proof edition of the mega-armoured Ork Big Mek is the perfect opportunity for you to try your hand at painting a large-scale greenskin. Armed and equipped with the same wargear as the painted version, you can add your own creative flair to this awesome action figure to make it truly your own. Tyranid Genestealer He looks fairly posable too even though he has fewer points of articulation than the Bandai version McFarlane Toys – Necron WarriorOther than that the proportions of the marine look pretty spot on. Though the Pistol and the Chain Sword look a bit small they actually look good when he’s holding them. The Left Shoulderpad features more ornamentation and is fully gold whilst featuring a campaign emblem sheild. Here’s the Primaris Ultramarine Assault Intecessor and his components. Please agree with me that you would have preferred a stand which is more in scale with the bases we are used to? Interesting. Though I would have expected Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Imperial Fists or Salamanders first.
