About this deal

Gift Card Fraud apparently is someone phoning you up to tell you to buy gift cards and read out the details of them over the phone, otherwise the police will come round and arrest you! The October issue started with a description of life at Upper Pentre farm, Painscastle. The Young Farmers were talking about Painscastle Fete and Kington Show, and a tractor run, including a trophy for the best turned out tractor. There was a report on the Gladestry Summer Fair, which had the theme Gladestry in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter opened the fair, assisted by the Queen of Hearts and the White Queen and there was, of course, a Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Ive been reading these types of mites normally feed on other insects, not the hay itself, and have come in from the field - usually dont survive in dry bales for long, preferring 60% moisture to continue their life cycle. I saw some friends among the crowd, and we retired to Shepherds for coffee (and delicious apple cake) and conversation. The latest timetable I've seen, shared on Facebook, shows buses leaving Hay for Hereford at 7.24am, 10.24am, 12.24pm and 16.34, with buses coming from Hereford to Hay at 8.35am, 11.35am and 13.35. The service appears to be split between the T14 and the 914, which runs from Hay to Hereford at 7.27am and from Hereford to Hay at 16.33 and 17.40. Olchon House Farm Mill is another one near Longtown, originally used for grinding animal feed and working farm machinery. It has been recently restored. This exhibition of Christmas trees has been going on for a while, but yesterday I walked up the hill to Cusop Church to see it.

The two smaller trees in the porch were decorated with all natural materials, as Cusop Church is now an Eco Church.

In the Buttermarket is the Mad Hatters Craft Fair, again with lots of interesting crafts on sale, so there's plenty to do in the middle of town, despite the weather. This residence was full of Edwardian baroque furniture and was staffed by three messengers and a servant. Geoffrey Just as we were saying "What on Earth was that?" three more tuk tuks came across the bridge, and off they all went together. The meeting then broke up into groups for actual planning of when people were going to London and what they were going to be doing. As I won't be going, that wasn't something I could participate in.

So there's quite a variety in terms of length of walks and terrain - all in beautiful countryside, of course. Rob Appleby pointed out that all the scientific endeavour over the last few hundred years has led to us (as a species) learning about 5% of all matter in the universe. There's 95% of stuff out there that we really know very little about, and that includes dark matter. He seemed quite excited by this thought, as it means we have so much yet to discover.

Hay has the River Wye and the Warren, and Timbuktu has the River Niger about 15km away, which used to be the main way to get to the city - but only for half the year, as the river is too shallow for boats during the dry season. Also, they would like people to join the library! It's free! It can be life-changing! There are no downsides to this at all! The jugglers weren't the only buskers - up at the top of the Pavement was a chap with an electric guitar who has become a regular fixture, playing something mellow.Everything they give out is donated. They have collection points in shops, banks and cafes, and other donations come from churches and individuals. However they also need money for running costs, and they run other projects to help their clients. Regarding costs, it seems to me you get what you deserve sometimes and I would suggest you go to the Bull with an open mind and less attitude.

They’re all very deserving of a visit though so make sure scroll through to the end where I’ve listed all twenty of them! Also on a green and sustainable theme, the Town Council mentions Hayfield Garden, the community garden on the other side of Hay Bridge, on Racquety Farm. They are keen to welcome new members to the group, which grows organic fruit and vegetables which are shared among the members, with the surplus being sold. They meet on Wednesdays and Saturday mornings, but people may be there on other days as well.Just a few stalls along was Plantlife. They run wildlife reserves across the country with an emphasis on rare species. As the chap at the stall said, people usually haven't heard of them - but they have heard of NoMowMay, which is their campaign.
