About this deal

They are too big, bulky and heavy. So what options do you have to improve the sound quality of the small portable TV in your caravan or motorhome? A Bluetooth Speaker? I’ve previously written a fairly comprehensive post on how to get an internet connection in your caravan or motorhome. Looking for tv recommendations, our van is on a seasonal super pitch so 12 v not essential, I'm looking for a 24” tv with decent sound and picture also smart tv option would be great but not a deal breaker as we have various dongle type devices. It is possible to line up a satellite dish using just a compass and watching the television screen. However, it is probably best to use a piece of equipment usually called a “satfinder” which is connected between the dish and the receiver. You will be able to watch lots of UK channels (hundreds - 90% rubbish), but not at the moment Ch4 & 5. You get all the local BBC and ITV area channels, plus the extra BBC and ITV ones - but you only get 4 & % with a Sky system plus a working card. It worked superbly during this years annual hol, so Iwill not be bothering with analgue or digital terrestial again.

I may well be wrong but I don't think you need a converter. My Samsung is 14v input and works fine on 12v and I think I'm right in saying they all work off something like 5v anyway!I know this because its how I’ve been powering a pair of stereo speakers, the speakers you see above, which sit behind my 22″ Samsung Smart TV. Therefore, I don’t want to repeat myself too much. Here I’ll just talk about the main choices, please read that post for more details. Like the Cello C1920FMTR, this Sniper model is a caravan TV that comes with a built in DVD and CD player. TV seems to be able to record, it has a usb port and sd/mmc card slot. Ive tried a small USB flash drive (2gb) just to see if it would do anything but the format failed to work and I couldn't get it to try and record to the sd card. Ive seen others say that the TV connects via USB to a hard drive which I assume would be a laptop style one in a usb cradle. Coud someone confirm if this is right or will the TV record to a Flash drive and if so what capacity and format is needed? Again, no complaints about this one beyond the overly bright flashing light when it phones home in the dead of night (auto update). We simply switched auto-update off - problem solved

We like that it provides a clear picture – it’s a HD TV with an edge-to-edge display. It can also be connected to the internet to give you access to a variety of streaming services, including Netflix, Now TV, iPlayer, Sky Store, Disney+ and YouTube. It’s even Bluetooth compatible, as well as coming with Freesat. I’ve actually recently written a post on the best caravan satellite TV options which you may be interested in Streaming TV Services in your Caravan or Motorhome Personally I would not open the tv to improve reception. I would test it on a good aerial connection at home and adjust the settings where possible to provide best picture. As I said ours has always provided an excellent picture. Such systems comprise a dish on the roof of the vehicle and a means of controlling its position from inside. This option avoids the possibility of having to set up a dish in the rain or the dark but still requires accurate alignment with the satellite. With the dish fixed, this should not be too difficult especially if a satfinder is used. Note: Sky viewing cards are electronically matched to the digiboxes in which they are used and cannot be moved from one digibox to another. If you want to use two digiboxes, one at home and one in your caravan for example, you will have to have two viewing cards if you want to watch any of the encrypted channels. This can be arranged through Sky. Also, bear in mind that the terms and conditions for use of the card state that it cannot be taken abroad. Internet access and television via the internetMore and more televisions are being manufactured with DVB-T receivers built in and this removes the necessity for an external set-top box.
