About this deal

A mid-sized unit, the Super Pro has a 40mm by 33mm monochrome screen. That screen size is quite a bit smaller than the unit itself though, which measures 71mm by 48mm, is 26mm deep and weighs 60g. It sits quite high on the bike’s bars or stem, particularly since the standard mount is tall.

Oooh, I'm veering towards the negative again. Having used the near-identical Super GPS on every ride for perhaps a year, I'm niggled that few – if any – of its existing niggles have gone. Bar the new landscape display option, a smoother case and better waterproofing for the micro USB port (which was clumsy but never a problem unless you dropped it in a deep puddle), little has really changed. The casing feels substantial and there’s a rubber bung with a good seal which covers the USB recharging port at the bottom of the unit, making it properly weatherproof. The Lezyne Super Pro GPS is deeper than the Garmin Edge 130 Plus though, at 26mm versus 16mm for the Garmin. The combination of the larger mount and deeper unit means that the Super Pro GPS sits quite high off the bars and looks a bit chunky. It looks a bit better with a forward mount, which positions the computer in front of the bars. That’s something that you can buy separately or as part of Lezyne’s Loaded bundle, which also includes a heart rate monitor and cadence sensor. LEZYNE SUPER PRO GPS review: features Note: Anytime you do a firmware update by connecting the device in bootloader mode, you have to force a second update after that. If you don't, you may experience issues moving forward.

Pairing the Super GPS with ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart accessories is a simple process. The type of sensor is selected in Menu-Sensors, and then the Super GPS will search for the sensor and pair following a series of confirmation prompts to ensure the correct sensor is paired. Once a sensor is paired it will automatically sync with the sensor ID each time the unit is turned on. You also won’t be able to view the map directly on your device – I honestly don’t think it would be an enjoyable experience. So, this makes it smartphone-dependent.I bought a used Super Pro GPS that was used for about a year. The previous owner didn’t reset it to the factory settings, so I had to delete the activities and adjust the settings. I was not super positive at first. I was irritated by the interfaces, both on the GPS, the smartphone App and the online environment. I really had to search before I realized everything. Once that worked out, I became more positive. I like the robustness of the device itself, the accuracy and reliability. I don’t think I will use all the functionalities (such as Live Strava segments, no way ;-), but for others the wealth of functionalities of this small, robust, smart device will still be very attractive. And for € 150 euros it is quite a well-priced device. For the tech nerds out there obsessed with data and training the Super Pro pairs with ANT+ and Bluetooth accessories. Power meters, heart-rate monitors, cadence sensors etc. are all compatible with the new Super Pro. Bottom Line
