However, if you do not have feet on your current speakers then you may find it more efficient to tilt your speaker on its side to do the job. IsoAcoustics makes it easy to select the right product for your particular needs. Simply go to their online calculator and select your product category (speaker, subwoofer, turntable, etc.), enter in the manufacturer and model and voila! You’ll get your product’s dimensions, weight, recommended isolator, and the thread size you need.

While many rivals in the accessories space have seemingly similar offerings, IsoAcoustics GAIA III are a cut above average. Superbly built and finished, this is a quality product that will enhance your system’s sound and looks. Internal reflections are another consequence of speaker placement which can result in a loss of sound clarity and can cause sounds to become less three dimensional and spacious. Vibrations are inherent in the speaker, but any vibrations reflecting off the supporting surface and returning through any mechanical connection are a cause of internal reflections” Sean was very forthright about producing measurements to support the effectiveness of the technology. Using a laservibrometer, an instrument that measures vibrations on a surface and rapidly scans point-by-point over the test object’s surface to measure vibration levels at various points, Sean showed me how IsoAcoustics isolators reduced the resonant energy transferred from the speaker to the supporting floor surface.Deliveries outside of the EU are not subject to 20% VAT and so the 20% tax on items is automatically deducted when you login or register. The GAIA’s are threaded into the base of the speaker or subwoofer to replace the existing spikes or feet. Threading the GAIA’s into the base of the speaker creates a strong connection with the speaker. With the top of the GAIA housing connected with the speaker and the bottom of the GAIA connected to the supporting surface, all of the energy is then managed by the GAIA’s internal isolator.

There was no marking, scratching or residual impact on my hardwood floor. Even after months of use, the GAIA kept my hardwood floor in perfect condition. Something else to notice is during films the front soundstage is together more and cohesive. I have my centre channel raised on monitor foam wedges so are relatively isolated, now there is much less distinction in certain times between the front left and right speakers with the centre. Like additional timbre matching has occured. So I'm waxing lyrical right? Guy spends stupid money on speakers feet and placebo effect wins the day? I don't think so. I was not sat there straining to hear these differences, they are there immediately and with no doubt. For most of my listening, I used a McIntosh MC275 LE, a tube amp not particularly known for the accuracy of its bass reproduction, having a touch of midbass warmth. However, with the Gaias installed, the MC275 LE's bass seemed to become more neutral, with less midbass warmth—a welcome effect.WOW, it sounds so good like a live performance in front of me, with the harp visually playing at the right front of the soundstage & the flute playing at the dead centre. So airy with live ambience all over the place. While we may romanticize the quest, the actual journey to peak performance is far less fanciful but no less noble. Perhaps the journey would be less complicated if we reframed it as: “How can I optimize my system’s performance in my listening room?” Now there is the nuance! The aesthetically pleasing design, full fixture kit for any speaker (including B&W 800 and Nautilus adapters – optional) and the fact that they stabilise the speakers to the floor so much better than anything else I’ve tried, gives complete peace of mind, especially for the domestic family room, where other anomalies cannot be treated and the speakers are also protected from little fellas who bump into them with their fire engines, they simply flex rather than fall on the micro Firefighters.
