About this deal

Rigid insulation panels bonded to plasterboard have a PIR foam core, which is covered on both sides with an aluminium foil. This solution is ideally suited for attics or internal walls. We get here an insulation layer along with a finishing layer. Being able to paint directly onto the surface of the new wall is convenient and saves time and money. PIR insulated boards are suitable for internal walls, sloped roofs and ceilings. These insulated plasterboards incorporate an integral vapour control layer, which helps to reduce the risk of condensation. The thermal laminates boards are suitable for direct bonding ('dot and dab') and mechanically fixed installation techniques. Both are most cost-effective insulation methods in comparison to other insulation products. PIR plasterboard is incredibly popular due to the reduction in labour and construction times. They are available in lengths: 65mm, 85mm, 105mm, 125mm and 145mm. Their typical pull-through strengths is 340N for 12.5mm Plasterboard bonded to PIR core and 255N for 9.5mm Plasterboard. Cut the insulated plasterboard to fit. Fixing the thermal board directly to the floor joist usually involves more offcuts. With insulated plasterboard, you will need to use a saw. As with the version with screws, mark lines on the plasterboard where the timber framework is. This is so that you don’t miss the timber when hammering the nails in.

The Celotex insulation board offers excellent thermal performance, while the plasterboard provides a ready surface for decoration or further finishing. Small wings properly expand in isolation of the thermal plate, ensuring optimal grip in the material. Ensure framing systems are wide enough to offer 20mm support to all four edges of the plasterboard. Where joints between sheets of insulated plasterboard are unsupported by the timber framing studs, timber noggins should be installed. With the SDS adapter, Insofast insulated plasterboard fixings can be swiftly driven using a hammer, reducing labour costs for upgrading internal solid wall insulation. Cold bridging concerns are minimised thanks to a thermally efficient spiral shaft that is just 25% the cross-sectional area of an equivalent solid shaft. The fully countersunk head indents into the insulated plasterboard without tearing it. Disadvantages: no possibility to level the ceiling, lot more off cuts, 99% of the time, ceilings are not 100% plumb and level. Innovative technologies used in plasterboard manufacturing give a high-end finish to your interior projects. Because of this, we have increased durability, better thermal efficiency, and sound control with improved fire and moisture resistance. For example, a full range of products from the British Gypsum gyproc series can be an ideal choice for many interior projects. Produced from high-quality polyamide, making it very elastic and age-resistant. Their design pulls the plastic tails up tight behind the wall face making it very secure.

Cutting thermal plasterboard is simple. The insulation boards can then be cut to size with a fine-toothed saw. You must take the proper safety precautions before cutting the plasterboard. Wear gloves, goggles, and any other safety equipment that you think is appropriate. First, you want to mark your measurements on the board. The insulated plasterboards should be cut approximately 5mm short of the floor to ceiling height. Small mistakes lead to gaps, which can compromise the thermal efficiency of your plasterboard. Second, lay the plasterboard on a flat, clear surface. You need to use an extremely sharp knife that can cut through both the insulation and the plasterboard for a clean, concise finish. Siniat GTEC Thermal PIR and Thermal K Boards have a metallised vapour barrier provided as standard, the vapour barrier sits between the plasterboard and foam layers. Professional contractors use plasterboard to line masonry walls internally. The professionals simply attach the sheets to the masonry with a dab of adhesive such as wall linings. Types of Plasterboards You can fit Celotex plasterboards with industry-wide, standard practices. Direct bonding dot and dab (also known as drylining) is one of the most popular ways of installing plasterboards.Fire-resistant board: These are designed to offer resistance to fire. Other types of plasterboard also offer some sort of fire resistance but these boards provide much better resistance. Once again this does exactly what you would expect, as fire resistant plasterboard helps protect against the possibility of fire more than other types of plasterboard. Additives mix with the gypsum core once again to enhance the fireproof capabilities of the boards.

We recommend PL4000 products for internal solid walls, pitched roofs, flat roofs, and timber frame linings. You can install these boards under and between rafters and joists. Once you have done that, you need a big spirit level and use it between the battens to find lost points. As you go along, the important thing is to keep them levelled. Whereas single Celotex insulation boards can be cut with a utility knife, you will need a saw to cut Celotex with plasterboard. You can use an ordinary saw, but we recommend using a saw with fine teeth for a clean, precise cut. Alternatively it can be installed using an SDS adaptor in a lightweight SDS drill set at slow speed and with rotary action disengaged. A U-value is the measurement of the rate of heat loss through a material. Building work should strive for the lowest U-values possible, the lower the U-value, the less heat will be lost. As a future-oriented, innovative company Leviat focuses on the ever-changing requirements of the industry, and our latest development combines the portfolio of Ancon and Halfen Tension Systems to ensure we meet the individual requirements of our customers. Using different types of plasterboard in your home is a good way to improve the overall insulation offering. Some types of plasterboard sheets for insulation have different edges depending on whether you’ll need to plaster over the board or not. They can be used for new build projects or refurbishment projects, which gives the installer maximum flexibility
