Ironically, in the Slovak dub, the 1987 theme tune is played over the CGI introduction sequence, but shortened to coincide. It's all go at Pontypandy Fire Station with Trevor on his part time fireman course. But as Station Officer Steele sets up a drill for him, it looks as though trouble with Dilys's drains will give him some real experience. Sam, Sarah and James are all set for a camping adventure. The tent is up and all of the eggs are cooking nicely on the campfire. Then, Trevor arrives with his bus on fire. Follow the antics of Fireman Sam, everyone's favourite fireman, as he stars in four entertaining episodes featuring a host of delightful characters from Pontypandy, a small town somewhere in the hills and valleys of Wales.

This is the first Fireman Sam video release to be released by BBC Video and is also the first of only two Fireman Sam video releases to contain the 1981-1988 BBC Video Ident from when it was originally released in 1988 until it was re-released with the 1991-1997 BBC Video Ident in 1993. In the Series 5 intro as Sam is driving Jupiter down the main street of Pontypandy during the line "...Fireman Sam! 'Cause he's gonna save the day!...", if one looks closely it can be seen that Jupiter's lights do not flash at the correct rate near the end of the shot. The Arabic version of the Series 1-4 intro uses a different instrumental, and has an extra scene added taken from Rich and Famous. Today is a special day for Station Officer Steele. He's especially trimmed his moustache for his appearance on television in Wales Today. Could this be fame at last? The CGI series version is shortened to 30 seconds, except at the beginnings of hour long specials where the full version of the new theme song, as heard in Series 5, is used.Phew, it's hot outside today! With the weather so dry, Pontypandy's Fire Department are especially busy. And now, Jupiter - The Fire Engine - is almost out of water. With a gale blowing in Pontypandy, Sarah and James find that their kite is flying rather higher than they intended! Can Fireman Sam help? In the Original intro ( Series 1 - 4) Sam drives off from his house in Jupiter, but he leaves the front door open due to slipping on Norman's Skateboard.

That's the sound of The Pontypandy Fire Station Brass Band. It's time for a spot of band practice - which is a jolly good thing if Fireman Cridlington's skills on the trombone are anything to go by. From Series 14 onwards, the intro consists of renaming the song as the rescue team, scenes of Krystyna are shown, as well as the new introduction of the fire brigade's uniform. And at the end of the intro, Ben, Arnold and Tom are replaced by Krystyna, Malcom and Sgt Ravani with Kilo and Shadow.
