this dehumidifier has 3 buttons on it. One to turn it of and on, one is a timer which we will get to, the other is the humidistat, which measures the amount of moisture in the air. Just because moisture in the air is bad, doesn’t mean that the drier the air is the better. Its about having the perfect level of humidity, which according to google is around 30-50% for comfort and health. The device has a continuous drain setting for clothes drying or extreme humidity conditions and can be connected to an 11mm internal diameter hose. The front panel displays a comfort humidity light, indicating the humidity level. If you have a musty smell in your home, damp floors or walls, the walls are starting to get discolouration, you’re coughing more, your doors are creaking, blistering paint or wall paper peeling, condensation on your windows or mirrors… well then you probably need a dehumidifier. This isn’t the best designed feature. Often when you first turn the dehumidifier on its red right out the gate, which would suggest the air is fine, even if you know its not. I don’t hold any value in the light colours because they just seem inconsistent. It would probably work better if you had it on continuously and not if you turn it off when its not in use and on when you need it like I do. But i’d much rather just ignore the light and do it my own way. Wheels If you do then find that Dimplex Everdri 14L Dehumidifier isn’t exactly as you thought it would be, you can easily return it.

The 2.5L transparent water tank makes it easy to see how much water has been collected and also features an added antibacterial agent. A continuous drain setting helps to dry clothes and remove moisture in areas of extreme humidity. Alternatively an 11mm diameter hose can be attached to the unit and drained to an appropriate area if you require the dehumidifier to run constantly without cutting out once the tank is full.

The EverDri14EL also features a 'comfort humidity' light on its front panel. When the light turns green, the humidity comfort is just right. A red glow means it is too dry and if maintained, a dry atmosphere will prevail. When it turns blue, the atmosphere is too moist and therefore, could lead to a build-up of mould, mildew and damp. Yes it does, the EverDri model which I have comes with a drainage pipe included so you can continuously run the dehumidifier without the need of the emptying the tank. It’s not something I use because like I said, I do move the dehumidifier around and I find it somewhat satisfying to see how much water it’s collected. What if I forget that its turned on? The quiet mark is a third party accreditation that this model is one of the quietest on the market. If you’ve ever bought a dehumidifier before, you will know that some of them can be extremely noisy. Terrible if you want it in say, a bedroom, but this model is quiet. To which I can personal confirm. The humidistat allows you to set the Dimplex dehumidifier to the level of humidity you want, then it will constantly measure those levels and automatically cut off once you reach that level, then re-start when it goes above that level. I have main set to 40%. Timer Its best to buy one before you develop mould in your home or bad health. It doesn’t have to be the Dimplex, just get one, any one.

The dehumidifier has a pre filter which is used to capture large dust particles and an active carbon filter which helps to reduce odours. The 2.5l water tank has an added antibacterial agent and is transparent meaning the water volume collected in it is easily visible. The unit has integrated carry handles and sits on easy glide castors so taht it can be easily transported around the home.

This seems like a pretty boring feature but it is so helpful, the Dimplex is on wheels so when its not in use you can have it pushed against the wall and when it comes to using it you can easily wheel it out to the middle of the room for optimal dehumidifying. Little detail, but ever so useful. Not that I’ve noticed. Granted, I use it around once a week for about 4 hours. So its not getting excessive use, but with that I’ve not noticed any changes to my electricity bill, however huge changes to the air. Does it have a drainage pipe? The Dimplex Everdri is highly effective for removing excess moisture from the air in temperatures as low as5°. It has been approved by Quiet Mark meaning it is one of the quietest on the market of its kind. The electronic humidistat enables you to easily set your desired level of humidity in the room. It has a continuous drainage setting to aid the clothes drying process or for extreme humidity conditions, where the product will continue to run regardless of humidity level until the water tank fills, then it will switch off automatically. After that, all you really need to do is empty the 14 litre tank every so often and your air is clean. Features on the Dimplex 20l Dehumidifier Humidistat Quality is another important element when shopping for a new product, particularly if you’re looking for products like Dehumidifiers. However it’s really worth setting your expectations and needs right up-front so that you’re not expecting the world’s best quality products from the cheapest products in the range.Oh and that’s not to say its heavy, its a pretty small easily carriable machine, I’m just lazy so wheels is a big plus. Quiet Mark Yes, like I said, I bought it for a very musty, very much untanked basement and after about 3 uses I already notably felt and seen differences. For one the mould was gone and secondly the basement door, which previously was to warped to shut finally stayed shut and stopped creaking.
