About this deal

The Boss Katana MKII takes all the amazing features from the MKI, and takes it to the next level. We have added more effects, 10x amp voicings, a specific power amp input for amp modellers/multi-fx units and we have added the ability to link two Katana Amps together for a stereo rig. The Katana Range has become one of the most favoured amp ranges on the market, due to its incredible tone, feel and response. You can save your custom settings in the onboard Tone Setting memories. Eight Tone Settings are available, (Two banks of Four) and are easily recalled via the GA-FC Foot Controller. Inputs, Outputs Solo boost with onboard level control (dedicated delay and EQ can be applied to the Solo boost in BOSS Tone Studio) Mic'd cabinet emulation on the line, USB, and phones/recording outputs, with five Air Feel settings available in BOSS Tone Studio

With its built-in BOSS effects, the Katana-Artist lets you perform anywhere with just a guitar and amp. Connecting to BOSS Tone Studio via USB provides access to 65 fully customizable effects, and you can load your favorites into the amp’s various effects sections. Going beyond standard distortion, delay, and reverb, the selection includes powerful tone-shapers like pitch shifting, ring mod, channel and global EQs, and many more. There’s also an effects loop for patching in that external gear you can’t live without. And via BOSS Tone Studio, you’re able to move the loop’s position, adjust input/output gain, and select series/parallel operation as needed. Version 3 Effects and Control Features

Flagship Tones, Crafted for Pro Players

The output distortion of the Katana not only produces the natural distorted sound but works like a tube amp, the sound becomes richer and breaks up as you crank up the volume. The great thing is that you can work this feature without having to push the volume out too loud by adjusting the variable power control. The Katanas don’t play ‘what’s my line?’ with amp models, so you won’t hear facsimiles of any other well-known designs. However, much of the next generation Tube Logic technology was based on classic tweed amps from the 1950s and this is reflected in the clean and crunch sounds, which are among the most impressive low and medium gain models we’ve heard.

The Katana Version 4 update brings some great new features derived from the next-generation Katana MkII series. Heavy Octave, Stereo Delay, and Pan Delay effects have been added, along with a dedicated Pedal FX section that makes it easier to set up foot-controlled wah and pedal bend. In addition, a Katana-Artist or other 100-watt Katana model can now be used as a slave amp with the Katana MkII’s powerful Stereo Expand feature, allowing you to create wide, expansive tones with stereo-compatible effects distributed across both amps. There are 10 different amp voicings available on the Katana MKII Range, covering all bases of what a guitar player may need. There are 5 amp voicings on the front panel - Acoustic, Clean, Crunch, Lead and Brown, and a variation of each. Clean A has the classic American-Style bright/spangly clean sound, whereas B is more punchy/sparkly like an American Deluxe combo. Crunch A responds just like a traditional Class A vintage British amplifier, whereas B contains a more modern pronounced amp voicing. The Lead A voicing is a modern American-inspired high gain amp and B is a tight modern amp for prog/modern metal music. The “Brown Sound” is the essence of the iconic tone of the late Eddie Van Halen. Brown A is similar to his classic vintage tone, where the valves of the amp are pushed to the limit, whereas B is a more modern tone version. - it’s so loud, you might as well jump! The Acoustic voicings transform the Katana into an acoustic guitar amplifier, meaning it’s not just for electric guitars! A is a more natural flat-response, whereas B has pronounced highs and lows. Five unique amp characters, custom-tuned for optimum performance with the Katana-Artist’s cabinet and Waza speaker Five amp characters with five variations, plus Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections with three variations in each

Three-way Contour for shaping the overall tonal colour and Global EQ switch with three settings (customizable in Boss Tone Studio). The effects section follows the same pattern as other Katanas with two split rotary level controls - one for boost and mod effects, the other for Delay and FX - and a third un-split level control dedicated to reverb. Above each level knob is a small button switch that accesses three pre-loaded choices for each effect position, colour-coded by an LED that lights up in red, green or yellow. There’s also a tiny illuminated tap-tempo switch for manual delay time setting. Solo boost with onboard level control (dedicated delay and EQ can be applied to the Solo boost in Boss Tone Studio).
