About this deal

Actually, the expected clobberin’ fails to materialize, much to my surprise. What happens instead is a hearty apology followed by some of the most poetic praise proffered to a pretty posterior that I’ve ever heard. Color me…and Harley…mightily confused. But it’s a hearty, happy passage and I rather liked it. I do appreciate the unexpected in comics when it’s so presented. After all, Harley just wanted respect, which is what all people desire…in the end.

Now, will this comic sell? Unfortunately, I don’t have high hopes for that. Anthologies, even for the most major comic book characters, tend to be overlooked. Harley is also still too over-exposed, and I can see people ignoring this book. There’s also the problem of anthologies, in general, presenting inconsistent work. This comic might be great, but the next collection could be mediocre or even bad. However, I gotta say, if you love the GOOD versions of Harley and you’ve got money to spend, BUY THIS COMIC!Dini: My story is a caper and those are down to being planned in intricate detail. It’s Harley and a group of female criminals pulling a heist. It was all a matter of fitting the puzzle pieces together, with Harley as the screwball leader of the gang. The plan shouldn’t have worked, because she’s just too wild, but it does. Or…it works well enough. She continuously produces cover work for Marvel Comics, DC Comics and an assortment of independent titles. Dressing as Harley is the perfect Halloween costume for women who are heading out solo, but since she has so many different looks, you can easily find inspiration for a best friend ensemble or group getup. And, of course, if you have someone special in your life, then you can recruit them to dress up as the Joker for a fun couples costume. Amanda’s work can also be seen outside the comic book community in such places as ABC’S Nightline, the New York Times, Mad Magazine, the new sci-fi Stan lee “So You Want to be a Superhero” series and the upcoming Disney Underdog movie character designs for film and television, character designs for the Los Angeles Avengers stadium football team and is featured in a Biography magazine commercial on A&E. Amanda does spot illustrations in “Revolver” magazine each month and has had a huge success with the JSA Powergirl miniseries in previous years, each issue going into 3rd printings.

This is the final book of the OG Conner/Palmiotti run and coincided with the 2016 movie's release, and the one where she gets a mini make-over and she becomes the blonde most people know her as from the movies/TV show. I was waiting for that tbh! Amanda then moved on to do what is probably one of her best known works. She did several years as penciller on the hit series “Vampirella” for Harris Comics and drafted 24 issues. While illustrating “Vampirella”, Amanda worked with the top writers in the field, Grant Morrison, Mark Millar and Warren Ellis. Like many pop culture-inspired costumes, there isn't just one way to dress up as Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Yes, you can recreate her ever-popular Suicide Squad ensemble, but we've got DIY costume ideas inspired by her comic, TV show, and video game appearances (as well as her other movie roles) that you can shop as well.

Step 7: Spray on hair color.

It doesn’t matter if Harley isn’t with the Joker anymore; she’s still no paragon of growth and empowerment. The character continues to be a walking oxymoron as people try to portray her as a “bad girl” character and a feminist icon at the same time. As such, it doesn’t work. Noticeably, Harley’s storylines that have explored her independence in the past, like her first solo series, didn’t try to pass her off as a feminist character either. I guess we’re still trapped in the day and age where every female character needs to spread a good message to its audience. (We poor, foolish little women might not know how to be strong otherwise, don’t you know?) To my surprise, this is ANOTHER good Harley story! I was a little bit concerned when I saw the very exaggerated facial expressions on Harley, that she would be written very obnoxiously in the story. I was wrong, though. Like Kelly Thompson, Brett and Stein nail Harley’s voice and personality! Through this story, we get a natural and HONEST exploration of the matter of Harley trying to make up for her mistakes from the past. Gordon is portrayed very much in character as someone who would have a hard time ever forgiving Harley. Harley, however, is portrayed as someone who is going to have an even harder time ever forgiving herself. Hello? Is that character depth I see for Harley Quinn? Finally?!? Despite my blasting the last story, I will say that it was nice to read a Harley book where I could recognize that I was reading Harley Quinn. Noticeably, every writer so far has chosen to write Harley as a villain here. That shows how people are still viewing the character apart from editorial constraints. However, we can still see the confusion about who Harley is even supposed to be as a character. We can also see that DC just doesn’t have the greatest pool of writers to pull from right now.
