The best car shampoo at a glance:
Dampen the white side of the supplied wax applicator. Gently dab the applicator on the wax in the pot and then apply to clean, dry paintwork in a light circular motion, leaving a thin even layer on all painted surfaces. Do not over apply as this may make the wax difficult to buff later. Do not apply to unpainted rubber or unpainted plastic trim. The included UHD Preparation product can be used to remove any UHD Ceramic Coating accidentally applied to glass. Foaming Car Wash is a high foaming, pH neutral, ‘pure’ shampoo that cleans the car extremely well, but doesn’t do anything else. It leaves no film behind, nor does it have any other additives. It just cleans. It is wax safe.
If you've ever heard that horrible squeaking noise from a sponge on paintwork, it's because there's not enough lubrication between the surface of the sponge and the paintwork. It's bad news because there's also a small bit of grit in the mix. ApplicationOur current shampoo range consists of Foaming Car Wash (formally Pure Shampoo ), Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, and Ultra High Definition Shampoo. Once you apply the product it will begin to evaporate. When the product appears to have formed small beads and a film is beginning to form this is the time to buff off the product. On warmer days this will take 1-2 minutes, on cooler days 3-5 minutes. Use this first panel as your guide for the rest of the car. It is possible, but there is a limited gain from doing so. It is not something we would recommend. On-going cleaning with UHD Shampoo and periodic applications of UHD Wax would be more effective. Yes it is, however the Autoglym UHD applicator has been designed to ensure the most efficient application. UHD Coating has not been tested and approved for use with other applicators.
Waxes like Rapid Aqua Wax and UHD Wax offer protection, but not on same scale or length of time as UHD Ceramic Coating. They can also be removed, as can sealants (like Extra Gloss Protection).
How we tested it:
When the car is cleaned and the surface holds water for more than one minute, this is a sign that UHD Ceramic Coating should be reapplied. After applying to one averaged sized panel, and allowing the appropriate curing time, buff well using the red Finishing Cloth. It’s actually a demonstration of the hydrophobic properties of UHD Wax, but as the car was washed with UHD Shampoo prior to the test being carried out and it does look amazing. This will supplement any existing wax on your car’s paintwork. The downside is that wash-and-wax shampoos are slightly compromised in terms of both cleaning and protecting ability.
