About this deal

David Baldacci has been writing since childhood, when his mother gave him a lined notebook in which to write down his stories. (Much later, when David thanked her for being the spark that ignited his writing career, she revealed that she’d given him the notebook to keep him quiet, "because every mom needs a break now and then.”) The confession has the potential to make Melvin Mars — guilty or not — a free man. Who wants Mars out of prison? And why now? The Fallen. Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes–obscure bible verses, odd symbols–have the police stumped. Memory Man was a wonderful book with lots of twists and turns, so naturally I had to read the series. When Long Shadows was finally released, I bought the book immediately and couldn't wait to read it. Amos is having a rough time in Long Shadows. His partner and his other friends have all moved away and are settling down. Someone very close to him commits suicide. Then he receives a less than promising report about his future health. He is depressed and starting to doubt himself and his abilities.

The first novel in the Will Robie series is THE INNOCENT which was released in 2012. THE HIT was later released in 2013. David Baldacci has written several books since childhood, after his mother had given him a lined notebook to write down all his stories. A lifelong Virginian, Baldacci received his Bachelor’s degree from The Virginia Commonwealth University while he got his law degree from University of Virginia School of Law before practicing law in Washington. Julie Getty, fourteen years old, is a smart, street-wise and touch who is on the run just after witnessing the killing of her parents. Robie and Julie Getty’s paths cross when they board the same bus. When Robie saves her from an assassin whom he recognizes, they later team up to solve the reason for being targeted. Their first meeting initially seems unrelated to one another’s dilemma. They are being sent to Florida to investigate the murder of a judge and her bodyguard. When they arrive, they find that the local agents were not briefed about their coming – which isn’t helpful.Currently with more than 30 books under his belt, Baldacci has written 6 mystery series so far and numerous standalone novels. Below are the first two books in the Will Robie Series. The Innocent, is the first novel in David Baldacci’s Will Robie Series featuring Will Robie, a new character. Robie works for one secret clandestine agency in the US and is one of their best operatives. His whole life revolves around his missions and job and is portrayed as being the perfect operative.

With all this in mind he is being sent to Florida and his usual partner in crime Alex Jamison has been transferred, he now has to deal with another partner Frederica White “aka Freddie” which means change which he hates.

What to Watch & Read Next

When he is given a new FBI Agent partner, Frederica White, he is not enthusiastic but she perseveres and they start to become a good team. The plot is very involved and features a lot of police procedural work which I always enjoy. There are multiple suspects and an equal number of red herrings. I did not predict the ending. First Amos receives a call that leaves him disturbed and profoundly sad. Then I realized Boggart, his boss has retired and Alex Jamison is assigned to a different city and partner. The authorities use them in the dark, without explaining why the identity of the victim is so important, but they provide additional help and support for the heavy artillery of other through-the-line heroes of Boldacci - agent Will Robey and his partner. The case, meanwhile, grows like a snowball, murders, suicides and kidnappings multiply, the finale gives considerable pleasure both by surprise and by the fact that everything is finally over. But the performance of Igor Knyazev is able to give charm even to such an illogical pile of stamps. Baldacci is an auto read author for me, and this book just shows you why. His plots are complicated but never confusing. His characters are realistic and get into your heart.

I like the story and I like that Amos is starting to show more feelings and learning some social cues too. He makes a good team with Alex. I'm starting the next one right away. This was typical Baldacci entertainment, non stop action, an amazing body count and so much going on it was hard to keep up with it all. In fact if you asked me to explain exactly what happened I would probably get it wrong. I do know I enjoyed it though.

As they begin to investigate, they are caught up in something that might put them in the crosshairs of something completely unexpected that could result in them being the next target. However, the events that follow on show a strong connection between her family’s murder and his mission. They later join forces with the local FBI agent, who agrees to help them. This later becomes a race against time in finding the people who are responsible for these crimes and not knowing the people that they can trust. The books are written by David Baldacci, a former attorney. David was born in Richmond, Virginia and then went to Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned his B.A. in Political Science. He then went to the University of Virginia School of Law where he got his Juris Doctor. David then went to Washington, DC where he would practice law for nine years. He now works with the FBI and after receiving a letter re his condition, he is also reeling after a tragedy concerning his former detective partner before working with the FBI.Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes — obscure bible verses, odd symbols — have the police stumped. In this guide, we wanted to give you an overview of each of the books in the series, so here we go: David Baldacci was born and raised in Virginia, where he still lives with his family. Before he became a bestselling author, Baldacci also practiced law in Washington, D.C. He attended the Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia.
