About this deal

Our team selects the best 65-inch TVs based on a few main factors: their overall picture performance including contrast, color saturation and motion handling, as well as their feature set, design and smart TV platform. We're looking for TVs that are well-built and have the technology to last for the next few years. The static contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce simultaneously, for example, within one and the same frame/scene. There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used.

Due to availability issues, we replaced the LG C2 OLED with the LG C3 OLED as our 'Best Upper Mid-Range 65-Inch TV'. Furthermore, the newer Sony A95L OLED replaced the Sony A95K OLED. Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases.

If you want to enhance your home theater setup with a surround sound system, you'll also be happy to know it supports audio passthrough for all common formats. It runs the Google TV interface with a sleek look and an easy-to-use menu. It has a massive selection of streaming apps, and the TV's built-in mic supports hands-free voice control, so you can easily find your favorite streaming shows, even when you can't find the remote. If you want a Sony TV for the best home theater experience but find the A95L too expensive, consider the Sony A80L/A80CL OLED. It's a step down in overall brightness and color vibrancy due to its WOLED panel. However, it's still an amazing TV, with great processing and advanced audio and video format support. Ergonomics Information about the ergonomic functions - height adjustment, swivel angles, tilt angles, etc. VESA mount The XLED 2000 is the top-of-the-line Mini LED TV with 2000 dimming zones. The TV runs on Sharp’s new platform, as do the other two Mini LEDs and the FS gaming TV, which includes Filmmaker mode. To test the Sharp EQ3 we used Portrait Displays Calman colour calibration software. Sharp EQ3 review: Sound quality You don’t necessarily need access to 4K entertainment content to enjoy the benefits of 4K resolution, either, since many of the best 4K TVs – i.e. most of the 65-inch displays on this list – boast impressive upscaling technologies that bolster content filmed in HD.

It's safe to say a lot of TVs nowadays don't have the most dynamic sound, instead focusing on an improved picture. Also, with TV's getting slimmer, manufacturers are having to squeeze in speakers into more smaller spaces. Sony is one brand that is striving to make sure its TVs provide excellent quality sound and the Sony A80L is certainly no exception. We use all of these objective test results to make comparisons about quality and performance between different TVs, but our evaluation doesn't end there. We also spend hours with each set, watching shows and movies, and using carefully selected video samples to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each set and help us tell you which TVs look and sound the best in a real home viewing environment.

UHD Tuner DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2 (MPEG4 + HEVC/H.265 (10-bit))

Information about the brightness of the screen. It is measured in candela per square metre (cd/m²). Although it's more expensive than the Samsung S90C OLED, if you want the best possible home theater experience, the Sony XR-65A95L is a better choice. While it uses a QD-OLED panel like the Samsung model, it has much better image processing, and its colors and brightness are more accurate overall, so it displays content the way its creator intended. It also supports Dolby Vision HDR, a more widely used HDR format than Samsung's HDR10+. If you like to game, it's also a fantastic gaming TV, with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on two of its HDMI ports, VRR support, and very low input lag, even though it's a bit higher than on the Samsung. Unfortunately, one of its HDMI 2.1 ports is also the eARC port, so you'll need to work around that if you have multiple HDMI 2.1 devices. Due to availability issues, the TCL 5 Series/S555 2022 QLED and Hisense A6/A65K were replaced with the Hisense U6/U6K and TCL S4/S450G, respectively. The XLED 300 has Dolby Vision and Atmos, as well as DTS:X audio support. There’s also MEMC support for motion but this TV runs Android TV instead of newer Google TV. FP and FN series Not just looking to excel in picture quality, the S90C also has a superior sound system to most mid-range OLEDs. With crisp treble and mid-range tones, it does suffer a little on bass, but is still superior to LG's C3 and G3 models from 2023.

Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. Size and space: For a 65-inch 4K TV you'll want to sit between 8 to 9 feet from the screen to hit the sweet spot of being close enough to enjoy all the sharp details, but not so close that you'll be able to make out the pixels that make up the picture. We’ve answered this question in a much more detailed guide elsewhere on TechRadar, but the short answer is: yes, if you can afford to. Replaced Sony A95K with Samsung S95C and re-named category 'best premium OLED'. Replaced Samsung QN900B with Samsung QN900C as best 8K TV. LG G3 became 'best TV for wall-mounting'.A degree of expectation management is required when it comes to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, because while the EQ3 can decode both, it only has two speakers and thus the sense of immersion is created using psychoacoustic processing. As a result, while the audio has a greater feeling of presence, it can’t compete with a soundbar using upward- and side-firing drivers. The question of the best 4K TV brand (for 65-inch models, in particular) is a difficult one to answer when there’s so many great models out there. Displays from the likes of LG, Sony and Samsung regularly make this list, but they’re often joined by equivalent models from brands like Hisense and Panasonic. The gaming features and performance of the LG G3 are also impressive. With four HDMI 2.1 ports that support 120Hz Dolby Vision gaming, VRR, ALLM as well as Nvidia G-sync and AMD FreeSync, the G3 also looks stunning, even during graphically intense moments. The Game Mode optimizer gives you plenty of settings to tweak to get the best out of video games and even adjusts settings to a game based on its genre with one option within the game menu, and it does a great job while it’s at it. Using a technology called 'Surface Audio+', the A80L enables sound to travel through the screen to create more direct, powerful audio. It also does an excellent job of processing Dolby Atmos effects to create a more immersive experience. We said in our review that "sound feels connected to the action on screen", which makes the audio experience more dynamic. The speakers can also be pushed without distorting too much. Although it is a bit of a let down in the audio department, with the Samsung S90C, S95C and Sony A80L all beating it, it’s undeniable just how good a TV the LG G3 is. And yes, although its brightness advantage is marginal, with only a 49 nits difference, the LG G3 is the brightest OLED TV available. Information about the maximum horizontal viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality.Next up is the XLED 1000 Mini LED, which includes 1000 dimming zones. It also features a 144Hz refresh rate, the new platform, Quantum Dot colour support and runs the Google TV interface. Like the XLED 2000, it also has an integrated sound system by Harman Kardon. XLED 300Mini LED It's also a great TV for gamers, supporting all variable refresh rate (VRR) technologies for a nearly tear-free gaming experience from any VRR-enabled source. Its four HDMI ports have HDMI 2.1 bandwidth for 4k @ 120Hz gaming from a recent console or gaming PC. Ultimately, you can't beat an OLED if you use your TV mostly in a dark room. If you love this TV but wish it were more vibrant, consider the more expensive LG G3 OLED. The G3 is one of the brightest OLEDs on the market and is certainly brighter than the C3, but it's not worth the price difference for most people. As 65-inch models are becoming increasingly popular, too, they’re also becoming less expensive, and we’d almost always recommend parting with a little bit more money to enjoy the benefits of such an impressive screen size. Which is the best 4K TV brand? It's a well-equipped TV with a great selection of smart features and a few gaming perks. Its image processing is significantly worse than on the U8K, so there's visible digital noise when watching low-bitrate content from streaming platforms. Still, it's a great TV for gaming, as it has superbly low input lag and variable refresh rate support for a responsive, nearly tear-free gaming experience. While it has a lower 60Hz refresh rate than the 120Hz on the U8K, it's still a great gaming TV with a fast response time, low input lag, and variable refresh rate (VRR) support that works well with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The LG OLED C3 easily lives up to its predecessors’ hype and presents a compelling case for itself as part of the newest generation of TVs. No matter what you want to watch, this set will make it sparkle and if you’re a gamer, you’ll benefit from its performance and dizzying selection of dedicated features just as much.
