You don't have to go crazy and break the bank buying them tons of presents to put inside, for them a lot of the excitement is in the unwrapping and discovering what's hidden in the hamper. Adding a lot of little bits, fun trinkets and treats that will keep them busy is a great way to fill the hamper. Anything is cuter than dirty clothes strewn across the room, but this fabric laundry basket is making my life much easier! Traditionally, most hampers are wrapped in a clear cellophane so that you can see a bit of what's inside and tied with a bow or ribbon. The bottom of the basket would usually have a layer of shredded paper or raffia that your gifts get nestled into and arranged on to make a pretty display. Fig 1: Bring the needle out from A, go in through B and out through C, as shown. Points A and B are diagonal to each other, while B and C are at the same level. You can pin it together for this next piece or not but you’ll want to stitch along that perimeter, about 1/4″ from the edge, to keep things in place. Then measure down about 1″ from where you stitched and add another line of stitching. Knit with 4 strands of bulky yarn held together this is a fast stash-busting project. 18 cm/ 7″ diameter across the base. Designed by Bonny BonafillaOnce you’ve finished stitching, pull the printed fabric piece out of the canvas piece. This will show you your opening. Step Eight: Now we’re going to join the printed cotton piece with the canvas piece. Find the seam on each tube and match them up so that the right sides of each piece are facing each other. Pin together. Step Four: Pin the short ends of your printed canvas fabric to each other with right sides facing each other. Repeat this process with the short ends of your canvas fabric (which has no right sides).
