Of the cheaper shakers, Capilungo was most impressed by this stainless steel cobbler from Waitrose. At the swanky central London top-floor bar of Aqua Nueva, Capilungo guides me through the basics. In all honesty, you won't feel too much difference in the flavour of the drink between the shakers; ease of use and ease of opening tend to be the difference. During testing, we found this set to be one of the most comprehensive, easy-to-use, and aesthetically pleasing of the lineup. The tins felt great in the hand, separated easily, did not leak, and the strainer poured just fine. The muddler was simply an added bonus. These shakers tend to show every drip of liquid, so if that bugs you, our tester had a suggestion: Buy a microfiber towel to dry them off with, which will help keep them nice and shiny. Ultimately, our testers felt these shakers were heavy, well-made, and worth the price. Once you’ve established that your protein shaker can serve the basic purpose of shaking up your protein, there are some other useful features to look out for to ensure it's with a place in your gym routine. The Usagi is small – it only makes one drink at a time – however it was the heaviest of all the ones I tried, giving it a sturdy, durable feel. Capilungo is a fan: "Everything is balanced when you open it, everything comes apart easily, it has perfectly matched up with my expectations." To me, this shaker seems ideal for the beginner, as I found many of the others very fiddly, though the pros are clearly fans, too. We found this set to be one of our favorites and the best value by far. The product was a pleasure to unbox—very sleek and modern, with great fonts and marketing. Each product was individually wrapped in plastic, and the products themselves were very modern, sleek, and strong. They were definitely the shiniest of the bunch!
