Sizing is particularly important in a climbing shoe: too loose, and your foot will be sliding around; too tight, and you won’t want to keep them on your feet long enough to complete a climb. Air dry: Never leave your climbing shoes in direct sunlight or near a heat source, such as a radiator or heater. Instead, let them air dry at room temperature. Eighteen models for each technique, each style, each slope, and each climbing experience. There’s another important lesson here: how you use your feet is more important than what you put on them. If your shoes are a little on the roomy side, it will only force you to improve your footwork. Over time, it’s best practice to get used to overcoming obstacles by working on technique rather than buying different gear. In general, get the same size you would in street shoes, or a half size down. Major exceptions to this rule (like the Butora Endeavor) will typically state them explicitly. And as we mentioned above, leather will stretch more than synthetic, so size your leather shoes down a bit and expect to endure a few mildly uncomfortable break-in sessions. That means not sizing down like you're in ballet shoes (as some beginners are tempted to do).
