About this deal

The announcement from AMD of their Ryzen 7000 X3D lineup was one of the most exciting of CES 2023. These 3 CPUs all make use of the new Ryzen X3D technology which allows for significantly higher cache sizes. The 7900X3D is the middle child of the range and we are already almost able to get our hands on this sleek new CPU that is released sometime today. When it comes to cache size, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D has a larger L3 cache of 128MB compared to the Ryzen 9 7900X’s 76MB. A larger cache can help to improve performance by reducing the time it takes to access frequently used data. In recent benchmarks, we have observed that the 7900X3D produces results that are closer to those of the Intel i9-13900K, thereby reducing the gap that existed between the two processors in this range. With such comparable performance, AMD users can look forward to a brighter future in this 7000 series generation. Furthermore, AMD has regained its title as the best gaming CPU in the market, edging out Intel once again. Ryzen 7900X3D: Conclusion Also, they have padded the whole thing with anti-vibration cushions. Consequently, maximum airflow with little noise can be achieved thanks to the fan’s seven blades with flow acceleration channels on the suction side. Notably, the NH-asymmetrical D15S’s twin-tower design makes it one of the finest PCIe and RAM-compatible air coolers. Also, the ideal RAM clearance is around 65mm. What we disliked about the Alphacool Eisbaer Pro Aurora 240 is that the fans will also speed up as the temperature rises. Moreover, we think the noise they create is overwhelming compared to the other fans from the competition in the marketplace. Verdict

We’ll be breaking down exactly what these differences mean in terms of performance later on in this article. These numbers aren't reflected in our overall geometric mean listed above but provide further context. The Ryzen 9 7900X3D provides 13900K-beating performance in a broad range of titles, with results ranging from -1.7% to +22.2%. Furthermore, this cooler comes with a special RGB controller from Lian Li. This compact controller has three buttons that allow you to choose between several preset modes and speeds. Since there are 20 FPIs, powerful static pressure for the fans is required to maintain the airflow. The Ryzen 9 7900X3D is a high-performance CPU that boasts impressive specifications. With 12 cores and 24 threads, it offers exceptional processing power, making it an excellent choice for demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D modeling, and scientific simulations. Moreover, this cooler features Enermax’s unique CCI + SCT technology. Using Central Coolant Inlet (CCI) technology, the coolant is injected directly into the area of the highest temperature buildup. The SCT design reduces the distance that the coolant must travel, improving the heat transfer efficiency. Both processors belong to the same generation (Zen 4) and offer some impressive specs, but they have some differences that set them apart from each other. Starting with the core count, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D has 12 cores and 24 threads, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has 8 cores and 16 threads. This gives the Ryzen 9 a clear advantage in multitasking and running resource-intensive applications. Specs

It’s important to note that both the Ryzen 9 7900X and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D are not meant for those on a tight budget. These CPUs are designed for those who demand top-of-the-line performance and are willing to pay a premium for it.You can refer to the spec table below to see how the full Ryzen 7000 lineup compares. Note that UK prices weren't included in the press release we received, but we're following up with AMD about this and will add this information if we get it. In addition to increasing airflow while decreasing noise, fan design prioritizes quiet performance. The fan’s diameter is larger to accommodate the central digital RGB LEDs. According to Lian Li, these fans use Fluid Dynamic bearings and have an industrial-grade motor design. Moreover, a white anti-vibration pad is attached to each mounting corner to dampen vibrational noise. Ultimately, the reduced memory latency means that you're getting a chip that runs cooler, draws less power, and performs better thanks to the addition of the second generation of AMD's V-cache. While AMD is primarily highlighting the specifications and performance of its most robust processor, the 7950X3D, the 7900X3D is also a highly anticipated release. This 12-core and 24-thread CPU, boasting 128MB of cache memory, carries a significant responsibility. It aims to serve as a valuable intermediate option between the forthcoming 7800X3D and the top-tier 7950X3D, catering to users looking for a high-performance CPU that doesn’t come with an astronomical price tag.

Best 240mm AIO Cooler For Ryzen 9 7900X3D Best-White-CPU-Cooler-For-Ryzen-9-7900X3D-Alphacool-Eisbaer-Pro-Aurora-240 Regarding visual appeal, the pump housing is the most representative value. Its dimensions are 87.1x74x62mm (LxWxH). A height of 62mm is quite a bit, yet it is understandable in light of Lian Li’s overall design implementations. The housing is mostly white, with some silver accents. While a higher TDP usually relates to higher performance, the inclusion of the added 3D V-cache means that the processor can access a larger pool of superfast cache memory, which is even more useful when gaming than just throwing raw power at the problem. With its own dedicated extra cache, there are fewer fetch operations to the PC's main memory, so the chip runs more efficiently, and potentially cooler under load. The chipset drivers also include a component that improves performance by parking the chiplet without extra cache when Game Mode or Mixed Reality Mode is active. In effect, this shuts down the ‘standard’ CCD, thus constraining latency-sensitive workloads (like games) to the 3D V-Cache chiplet. This improves the cache hit rate and reduces high-latency communication between the two CCDs, resulting in faster performance for workloads that don’t need access to (or benefit from) all the cores. The 7900X3D, built on AMD’s cutting-edge 3D V-cache technology, delivers improved performance and faster speeds compared to its predecessors. Its ample cache memory provides a considerable boost in gaming, rendering, and multitasking applications, making it a compelling choice for power users. Additionally, the 7900X3D’s ability to run at lower temperatures and power consumption compared to its competition sets it apart from the crowd. Here, ENERMAX has used an infinity mirror design that is pleasing to the eye. The blend of Infinite RGB Reflection with Enermax’s Luminous Aurabelt technology creates a breathtaking visual effect.

The 7900X3D is an ideal processor for users seeking a high-performance CPU for demanding tasks such as gaming. However, thanks to the new core architecture, the processor is also video editing, gaming, or scientific simulations without breaking the bank. It serves as a crucial stepping stone between the more affordable 7800X3D and the higher-end 7950X3D, providing users with an excellent balance of performance and value. Overall, the 7900X3D is a processor worth considering for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming rig or workstation. Ryzen 7900X3D: Specs Despite the air’s resistance, these fans can do their cooling purpose because they are built to emphasize focused airflow at high static pressure. The fans are visually appealing because of their innovative design, which connects the blades with an outside ring made of the same semi-translucent plastic. This, together with the RGB LEDs, creates a stunning visual effect. We test Intel processors with the power limits fully removed for our standard measurements, so those chips run beyond the 'recommended' power settings but remain within warranty. We used DDR5 for both the Raptor Lake and Zen 4 processors. The cooler may become rather noisy when running at full rpm. To compensate for this, a quieter fan curve may be set for those who value silence above everything else. Verdict AMD has confirmed that each chiplet of the 7900X3D contains 6 active cores, ensuring a balanced configuration across the processor. This eliminates any uneven setups where, for instance, one chiplet would contain 8 cores with 3D V-Cache while the other has only 4 cores without it. However, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D is more energy-efficient at these lower speeds, making it an attractive option for gamers looking for a powerful and efficient CPU. Additionally, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D has a lower TDP than the Ryzen 9 7900X, further contributing to its efficiency.
