About this deal

Device will reboot twice as it expands the NTFS partition and converts it to exfat to fill the rest of the micro SD card.

If however, you’d like to have the latest and greatest updates available for your emulators and want an improved experience then you should consider installing a CFW. Note: For ArkOS on the RG351V or RG351MP, if SD2 is being used for roms, unzip the port to the /roms2/ports folder instead and copy the PortMaster folder to the /roms2/tools location. A few additional ports are available on the large releases repo ( https://github.com/PortsMaster/PortMaster-Releases/releases) due to their size (ex. SuperTux, Ur Quan Masters, and FreedroidRPG). How do I get more info about the ports in this repo like the sources used and additional asset needs if applicable?

Please Note

However, it’s the games that really show what this handheld can do. Very similar to the RG353V, I found that all of the included platforms worked remarkably well. This also includes Dreamcast games, which the ones that came pre-installed played without any slowdown or frame rate drops, including Sonic Adventure 2. Assuming you’ve configured your TF2 SD card properly for games and all of the files are in the right folders, your Linux OS of choice should automatically read them from the card and present you with a series of menu options including one for each game system as well as one for Favorites and one for Tools or Options. PSP games also worked really well, though the God of War games still had some frame-rate issues, which made them unenjoyable to play. However, everything else I tried played great, and I really cannot complain about anything.

Most distributions contain PortMaster which is a fantastic tool that helps to install old (and some new) linux/PC games that are playable on the RG353 On your first boot of the OS make sure to open System Settings (start button) and enable the “Device is RG353V” option. This will fix your missing audio issues. I stumbled upon a review on YouTube, had a look and wanted to have it. Now, after a while with it, I can say: I love it. I find it intriguing, what devices can be built at what price nowadays. I especially like the screen and the buttons, which have a good quality-feel for me.

To boot into the Android system, you’ll need to ensure that the SD card has been removed from the TF1 card slot. Without the TF1 card, turn on the device and walk through the standard setup. Once competed you should be greeted with a pretty blank looking screen.

All three devices in the lineup are dual boot Linux and Android with the exception of the RG353VS variant which is Linux only and only 1GB of memory in an attempt to reduce costs on the line.I’m not going to go over the specifications or how well it plays games as it is identical in both those areas when compared to the RG353V, so I would recommend reading the original review for the for that device to help you decide whether this one is worth buying. For 351Elec/AmberElec, just unzip the contents of PortMaster.zip to your storage/roms/ports folder then run PortMaster.sh from the Ports menu in 351Elec.

Some disc-based systems will have multi-disc games. When playing these games, they may prompt you to insert the next disc. Here are the instructions on how to do this. Uncompress the image with 7zip (From terminal, you can install this by doing sudo apt-get install p7zip-full p7zip-rar) DO NOT USE BALENA ETCHER WITH THIS IMAGE! There has been reports of various strange issues and inconsistent performance using Etcher for this image. When it loads, open the TF2 drive. You should be able to see the following folders via Windows Explorer:My RG353M arrived a couple days ago and I have to say, relative to everything else in their lineup, they really hit the nail on the head with the 353M. Everyone's touched on gameplay and it's capable for sure, but user experience with the physical device ultimately is what's important to me. Even the smaller details like countersunk buttons on the plastic sides are very noticeable in hand, the alternate design shoulder buttons are a surprisingly comfortable improvement, and you can't really tell the sides are plastic just by using it. Even the SD card slots being shifted a fraction of a mm inwards so the very edge of the SD cards no longer protrude from the body is a nice show of attention to detail. Stable sleep mode for most of the supported RK3326 devices (Gameforce Chi, Odroid Go Advance, RK2020, RGB10, and RG351MP), the RG353M, RG353V, RG353VS, and RG503. The RG405M now has a 4” IPS touchscreen display, a slight increase from the RG353M 3.5” screen. The resolution of 640 x 480 stays the same though. The 4:3 ratio on a 4” screen is perfect when playing your retro games. The apps themselves however still take a bit of setting up, but it’s mainly for where the game files can be located on either internal or micro SD card storage. Some apps did require a bit more setting up such as the controls.
