Pioneer DDJ-RX professional 4-channel controller for rekordbox DJ

A lot of DJ’s first comment on seeing this unit from NAMM was finally a laptop free system, oh but wait only 2 channels. I guess we will have to wait and see if Pioneer are listening to that. I am asking this as I am planning on connecting a pair of pure analog SL1200s and play music from real vinyl – if this is a digital mixer then I suppose that the benefit of analog (turntables) source (warmth and authencity of the analog) will be lost in ‘digital architecture’? The controller’s layout mirrors the software’s GUI, giving you instinctive control of performance features including Hot Cues, Sampler, Slicer, Sound Colour FX, Beat FX, Beat Jump and Pad FX. I mean I used to have DDJ-SZ (only used it for very short time) and loved it but now I am thinking about getting:

Is this unit in any way DVS compatible/expandable? I would like the have the option to use timecode vinyl on the SLs to control the software (particularly Serato DJ) and mp3s through this unit.

Especially in comparison to top of the line and digital mixer from Pioneer i.e. DJM-900nxs(2) and some full analog mixers for example made by A&H (e.g. Xone43)? Rekordbox DJ includes all the accustomed tools including Sampler, Slicer, Hot Cues, Beat FX and Sound Colour FX along with Beat Jump and introducing the new Pad FX so you can create multiple FX chains using all 16 pads.

All my music is in MP3s (therefore I need ‘digital DJ’ in one form or the other i.e. laptop dependent controller djing/DVS/all in one laptop free unit) but I also will start buying vinyl records and increase this slowly with time But also you can set the unit into Midi mode for use as a “traditional” DJ controller with DJ software that can be mapped such as Traktor or VirtualDJ (great if you want to make the transition to Rekordbox gradually), and – my personal favourite – a highly useful brightness control for the display, so you can set it to be clear and easy to read in broad sunlight, while also so as not to dazzle you in a dark DJ booth. The XDJ-RX is not compatible with Serato DJ at the time of this writing. I’ve been using a Traktor s4 with and F1 for about a year, I think it’s a brilliant system with a v intuitive design and some amazing features. When it works its amazing. The crux of it is a powerful laptop otherwise audio artifacts can soon ruin the fun.The Pioneer DDJ-RX DJ Controller is designed with no quality compromised. At first glance it is similar to its big brother, the famous SX, however the DDJ-RX features new, superb components tailored to provide DJs with an intuitive rekordbox dj experience. Can I use serato DVS with this? That would be great if I could – all my music is in mp3 but I plan on starting buying pure analog vinyl records too.
