About this deal

The features offered by the EE Smart 5G Hub are fairly standard but also mostly good. For one thing, it can get up to 64 devices online simultaneously. If you think about how many internet-connected devices you have in your home, chances are the number is well below that. Then consider that they’re probably not all on at the same time. So 64 should be plenty for almost anyone. Tech Library offering additional technical information to business users: https://www.zyxel.com/global/en/support/tech-library Arguably the most significant difference is how many devices each Hub can get online. With the latest Three 5G Hub – the Zyxel NR5103E - you can get up to 64 devices connected to the internet at once, but the previous one – the ZTE MC801A – could only get up to 30 devices online simultaneously.

The EE Smart 5G Hubis the best 5G router available on a UK network at the time of writing, so on that basis it comes highly recommended. But it’s also the same as the router that Three offers, so only really has an edge over Vodafone. There’s a new Three 5G Hub out, but like the last model it’s just called the Three 5G Hub, which can lead to some confusion. EDIT2: Yep and if you force 5G - you get nothing. And if you force 4G you just get, 4G (see below). So it defo is best on "Auto" as that does make it use 5G. I do have circa ~100 devices connected to my home network and the CE Pro 2 struggled to handle the DHCP and continuous connections for all devices so I had to make some changes to the network setup. Enable the APN Manual Mode and put in the information you got from your internet service provider (ISP). 2) Cellular Band configurationThe DrayTek 2927 is a fabulous router and can handle dual WLAN so you can connect up your Mobile Route and home broadband to combine speeds if you need more. And remember – that’s just the average. While it could sometimes therefore be slower, it could also be faster. In fact, the EE Smart 5G Hub appears to be a rebadged Zyxel NR5103 (though EE hasn’t confirmed this). But that router is capable of speeds of up to 4.67Gbps – which is far more than you’ll get on any UK 5G network, but it helps ensure that it’s future-proof and could provide faster 5G in future once the infrastructure improves. Features and software That’s understandable, and you shouldn’t let the age of this hardware put you off – 5G home broadband routers are rarely refreshed, and the EE Smart 5G Hub has competitive specs and speeds.

offers the capacity to enable additional smart home and office capabilities that require high-bandwidth and low-latency. This assists the Internet of Things (IoT) expand rapidly. 5G coverage of the network is proliferating, which is destined to transform the tech in your home and office. NR5101 has 5G downlink speeds of up to 5 Gbps, which can be the cornerstone of your smart life construction. Next-Gen Connectivity

Easy App & Web Management

You can only get the new one now, so if you’re buying the Three 5G Hub for the first time then you don’t really have a choice to make about Three's 5G home broadband , but if you’re considering an upgrade or just wondering what’s changed, this article is for you. Since 5G became available, I upgraded to the Huawei CEP Pro 2 Modem. No external aerial option but I was hitting pretty decent speeds. 400+Mb which I was very happy with.

The current Three 5G Hub is a rebranded Zyxel NR5103E, while the previous model was a ZTE MC801A, and below we’ve detailed the key differences between these two devices. Speed That said, this could be worth it if you get better 5G coverage from EE in your home. EE’s prices also aren’t really any worse than Vodafone’s. Conclusion Other than the things detailed above, the Zyxel NR5103E and the ZTE MC801A have largely the same specs, including support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. When 5G meets WiFi 6, they can boost larger bandwidth and capacity than legacy solutions. These two cutting edge technologies come together in the NR5101, bringing new heights to performance and capacity for mobile users and IoT devices in commercial buildings. The NR5101 deploys AX1800 WiFi 6, which can deliver up to 4x the speed compared to WiFi 5. Multi-Function Router

Select "Fixed"if you want the NR5101 to send the traffic to a specific LAN client:

The Vodafone GigaCube 5G is different though. This is a rebranded Huawei 5G CPE Pro, as is the old 5GEE Home Router, which this newer EE router replaces. For most people this still probably won’t actually be an issue – 30 devices is still enough to get numerous phones, tablets, computers, consoles, and smart home devices online at the same time. But if a huge number of your gadgets are web-connected – and you have a lot of them on at any one time – then support for 64 will help. The NR5101 is not just a network router - it also combines WLAN AP, LAN gateway, and USB 2.0 functions all into one box. Its WiFi 6 signal can be shared with up to 64 wireless devices simultaneously. The ability to operate in both bridge and router mode makes the device easy to deploy and integrate into your existing environment. Cutting-edge Connectivity One thing to be aware of with the design though is that at 227 x 133 x 131mm it’s quite large, and in particular quite tall. Height probably won’t be as much of a potential issue as having a large base, but it’s just something to note, and may affect placement.Product Portfolio 2.1 Comparison - Indoor LTE/5G Products 2.2 Comparison - Outdoor LTE/5G Products 2.4 Difference of Generic and Nebula Device 3) Licensed Service 4) Use cases 5) Mobile Router Cloud Deployment This displays the type of network your NR2101 is connected to. Your network can be either 3g, 4G, or 5G. There are two other options you might be considering though. If you’re set on EE then there’s also the EE 5G WiFi, but this is a battery-powered device that’s designed to be carried around with you, so we can’t really recommend it for home broadband.
