About this deal

Valérie Giscard d'Estaing, the former French president and the father of the now defunct EU constitutional treaty, said that Europe's first president must have majority support from his home country, which should be a nation that "respects all its European commitments". Something that he claimed Britain did not do. During the last few weeks we have been told that a crisis caused by Unionists is proof that Wales and Scotland can't survive as independent nations.

Yes for Wales Ltd also noted the fact that there isn't a similar umbrella group that unites those on the No side, again a fair comment. When the Daily Mail made it's disgusting slur about Ed Miliband, his father and his wider family in 2013, most of my nationalist friends / followers supported Miliband and expressed their revulsion at the way he had been unfairly treated by the extreme right wing press. What we can't accept is that any positive achievement can weigh anything in the balance against this sort of behaviour. I think we can still take Leanne Wood and mainstream social democratic members of Plaid seriously. But more and more extremist groups such as the FWA are beginning to look as if they're made up of kooks and nutters. Perhaps I'm being unfair. I wouldn't judge the Lib Dems on Cyril Smith or even Jeremy Thorpe, but I've encountered so many grubby and inadequate characters who identify with nationalism, I'm beginning to despair.Earlier this year I predicted that it might, just, be possible for Plaid to gain as many as 9 seats in the next General Election, I also thought that Plaid was on course to gain a second Euro seat next June. But if Plaid can't sort out the infighting in its own heartland with a big announcement that will please traditionalists and show that it has learned its lessons from the May fiasco in Gwynedd, then Adam Price might be a very lonely man in Westminster after the next election, and Jill might be on the dole by July. We can accept, what appears to be the inevitable, that despite 1000+ years of resistance to being assimilated into England, that the battle is now lost; by continuing to vote for what have become the English Nationalist Labour party or English Nationalist Tory Party, or we can make, (what might be the very last stand for the future existence of Wales) and vote en-mass for Plaid Cymru in 2016 to secure a future for our Nation by having a government that puts Wales First! This is simply a result of aging, resulting in less ability to hold in flatulence when we need to. “This is especially true in older women who have had multiple vaginal deliveries,” Houghton says. Stop the flatulence: Communists are internationalists. Everywhere we strive for the closest unity and agreement of working class and progressive parties of all countries. We oppose every manifestation of national sectionalism. It is an internationalist duty to uphold the principle, ‘One state, one party’. To the extent that the European Union becomes a state then that necessitates EU-wide trade unions and a Communist Party of the EU. Someone has asked 'where are Gwynedd's Adam Prices and Nerys Evanses, where are Gwynedd's distinctive next generation of politicians. It's a good question because it doesn;t look like there are any. Odd , given the fact that Gwynedd is a stronghold of Welsh culture.

I did offer to be interviewed on the general point and to complain about the local authorities who have failed to provide the necessary equipment in all schools - but that wasn't good enough. The story was dropped.I'm sure Leanne Wood can speak for herself on the issue but, as a member of aformentioned, 'satan like' and sinister CPGB, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with a member of one organisation donating to a particular cause of another. It's called having *principles*. In this case, the principle of fighting for open debate amongst the left on issues of importance. That UKIP can argue about "Immigration" in constituencies with fewer than 5% non British born residents like Aberconwy, but Plaid is too frightened to mention the 30% English Immigrants is counter-productive. I am always wary of people who use class as a definition of themselves. As a trade unionist, I see everyone I represent as equal, whether they are a part time cleaner or Chief Executive. As a Welsh nationalist, I also see all 3million Welsh people as equal, whatever their language, religion, place of birth, politics, sexuality etc. I also consider my nation of being equal to but no better than any other and believe that it not only has a right to govern itself but also that it would be in the interests of its citizens to do so. One of the things that has peeved me about S4C, since its creation, is that it's subtitling service hasn't been aimed at Welsh speaking people who are hard of hearing but at non Welsh speakers. I have complained many times to S4C about this and the response has always been that this was the recommendation of the "Welsh Council of the Deaf" – again an organisation that claims to speak for me but has never bothered to ask my opinion!

Americans tend to gain weight as we age, says Houghton says. This is due to several factors, including decreased metabolism, increased medications that cause weight gain and decreased exercise. “While this can be associated with increased flatulence, it is commonly associated with increased acid reflux and belching,” Houghton says. Medication

In 2003 I was asked, by Plaid, to take down a Plaid supporting poster from my window because it might alert others to the election and my wife and I were the only committed Plaid voters on our estate. Since adopting that strategy Plaid's share of the vote has declined year after year. The ONLY way #Plaid16 can win is by going out to gain votes, getting non voters TO vote and registering potential voters. The policy of shushing and hoping for a low turnout is past its sell by date. A couple of days ago I made a post on my Welsh language blog Hen Rhech Flin entitled Anabl i Fwynhau Sioe'r Nadolig (Unable to Enjoy the Christmas Show). The post noted the difficulty that I, and other people who are hard of hearing, have at this time of the year because few school halls in Wales provide loop systems for hearing aid users. As school halls are public buildings and are subject to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, all of them should have such basic "access" equipment as standard. Comprehensive health improvement campaigns that are not linked to benefit reduction are needed in the most deprived areas. The only real study looking at this was done in 2017. It was self-reported (how often do you toot daily?) and found that older adults don't necessarily pass gas (or admit to it) more frequently than younger adults. Nowadays, Plaid Cymru talks left. It claims to champion not only democracy, but even socialist democracy. It aims, for example, to "secure self-government for Wales and a democratic Welsh state based on socialist principles".

But more fundamentally consider this fact. Over the last 30 years their has been a decisive shift in the rich getting away with paying more tax. Who makes up the shortfall? Regular guys and gals like us, of course. There use to be a time when Plaid Cymru was the party that one could expect to defend local communities. Now it is a party that closes local facilities such as schools and public conveniences and shouts down and swears at those who offer solutions that might help save services. The other thing that I am trying to fit in around my blogging time is a course on revising schooldays French. When I learned French at school I learned a lot of songs - Sur la Pont d'Avignon and Frere Jacques in class and - Mademoiselle from Armentieres in the school yard! Here is a French song that fits in with my Poems and Politics thread on the blog as it was used as an exit quote by Norman Lamont a long time ago - so it is political! Secondly in the last fourty years or so society in the UK has become more and more fractured. As a nation we have followed philosophies that are direct opposition to the way we are supposed to live according to our Father GOD in his word, the scriptures. The truth is that the audience WAS fairly chosen, was reflective of all opinion, but the right was so wibbly-wobbly, so unsure of its stance that it just couldn’t bring itself to whoop and cheerright wing arguments!!!Martin Lewis: What the Autumn Statement means for you – including wages, benefits, pensions, ISAs, national insurance and more Finally, Adam Price has made clear that Plaid's economic strategy for regenerating Wales is profoundly anti-socialist and based on courting foreign multinationals. Corporate globalisation means that companies race around the world looking for where they can get the lowest goods for the least pay. Plaid's strategy can only mean a continuation of the low paid economy. Tony Blair cannot be president of Europe," agreed Edouard Balladur, the former conservative French prime minister close to Mr Sarkozy, writing in yesterday's Le Monde newspaper.
