About this deal

Hassan, Chris (April 11, 2022). "X-Men Monday #151 – Kieron Gillen Discusses 'Immortal X-Men #1' ". AIPT Comics . Retrieved January 2, 2023. In Paris, 1919, Nathaniel Essex meets with Irene Adler. Essex sits whistling the melody of "Nimrod", a piece by Edward Elgar. Irene confides that when she heard first heard the song during its premier, she had a fit. She tells Essex that a war is coming that will change everything, and that while she knows he is an evil man, their fates are joined and she wishes for them to be on the same side. She whispers something in Essex's ear, whereupon he suddenly dies, mumbling "You're a ghost" as a he expires. No Such Thing as Wizard Jesus: Played with. Whereas it's generally played straight in the Marvel Universe, Exodus believes that Jesus was both "the Nazarene mutant" and a messiah. However, nobody else on Krakoa seems to hold this view.

Because the infected are still furious at the dismissal of their votes, Storm elects to show them a video recording of their time in the Sins of Sinister universe. Rasputin IV has been happy to help. Unfortunately, Storm doesn’t exactly trust her, which will likely lead to later tensions. In 2023, CBR.com ranked Immortal X-Men 2nd in their "Top 100 Comics of 2022" list. [18] It was also nominated for the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book at the 34th GLAAD Media Awards. [19] In issue #4, Sinister's Multiple Man-empowered duplicates lead the Quiet Council on a wild goose chase. To confuse their pursuers, each duplicate proclaims, "I'm Spartacus!" - except for the one who shouts "I'm Brian!". Issue #14 shows that Sebastian Shaw's scheming before the start of Fall of X hasn't gone to plan. Shaw gets ownership of Krakoa but fails to get its liquid assets, he loses control of the Hellfire Club to Wilson Fisk (who is now White King) and his attempt to strip mine Krakoa is hindered by Xavier, who is staying on the island as penance for what he did. Save Scumming: Sinister's approach to his clones of Moira. If a decision leads to a future he dislikes, he uploads the details to a clone, kills her, and resets the timeline. It's implied that he's already done this 25 times, with the current Sinister being version 26 - he also mentions hoping to make it through Judgement Day this time, so at least one previous timeline he's reset was more advanced than where he was up to then..I have an announcement. I will be stepping down from the council and retiring to Arakko. — Magneto Appearing in "Part One: The Left Hand" a b Adams, Timothy (November 24, 2021). "X-Men: Marvel Adds SPOILERS to the Quiet Council". Comicbook . Retrieved January 2, 2023. Insistent Terminology: In #14 Sebastian Shaw finds himself a new secretary he insists on calling "New Tessa", although her name is Siobhan. The council begins to search for Magneto's replacement, allowing mutants to appear before the council and make their case. Angel, Monet, Gorgon, Vulcan, Abigail Brand and Beast all appear before the council to make their cases, but are deemed unsatisfactory. Other suggestions, such as Legion and Cypher are rejected, while others such as Namor, Sobunar of the Depths, Xilo the First Defender and Lodus Logos are offered the empty seat, but reject it.

The fourth issue, which focuses on Emma Frost, has a cover showing her in a huge bed, seemingly naked, partially covered by deep red sheets and lounging in luxury. The opening scene reveals her sprawled in a much smaller bed, lying on top of a tangled dark grey sheet and wearing a pink tank top and shorts. The contrast helps to establish one of the issue's themes - the gap between who Emma is in private and how she lets the world perceive her. Groundhog Day" Loop: Issue #9 sees Sinister repeatedly attempting to assassinate the Quiet Council, resetting the timeline every time he fails. He has ten attempts for this point in time, as the Moira clone he's using can only reset ten times. The last one mostly succeeds. Creator In-Joke: Being a Brit, Kieron Gillen prefers the most common British spelling, "Judgement", rather than "Judgment" and wanted to use the former for the 2022 event Judgment Day (Marvel Comics). Marvel editorial overrode him, and he had Sinister (also a Brit) make a catty remark about it in the first issue. Nathaniel Essex cloned himself four times over, each marked with one of the four playing card suits to pursue four different means to combat the emergence of AI in the future, explaining why Dr. Stasis insists that he is the original Nathaniel Essex alongside the Mr. Sinister that X-Men fans are familiar with. Immortal X-Men is an American superhero comic book series written by Kieron Gillen and published by Marvel Comics. [3]Marvel Comics March 2022 comics revealed". GamesRadar+. December 23, 2021 . Retrieved January 2, 2023. Kieron Gillen Sets Up the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Eternals for 'Judgment Day' ". Marvel. June 29, 2022 . Retrieved January 2, 2023. Cats Are Mean: When Cy-Cat ignores one of his commands, Mr. Sinister muses that not even his mad science is powerful enough to suppress the natural flippancy of felines. The Fellowship Has Ended: In issue #13, Xavier decides to end the Quiet Council, realizing that they are doing too much harm and they need to make a better government. As part of her pitch for membership in the Quiet Council, Selene brings up that time she tried resurrecting the population of Genosha herself, as happened in Necrosha. Kate tries pointing out Selene wasn't exactly doing that out of the kindness of her own heart.

From the shadows emerges Irene's partner, Mystique. Mystique asks if Irene expected that to happen, which she did not, and asks her what she told him. Irene responds that if Raven trusts her, she'll never ask that question again, and that she will tell her if she ever needs to know. The Quiet Council rules the Krakoan age, for better... or worse. Now, shaken by INFERNO and X LIVES / X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE they strive to hold together, no matter how much they want to tear each other apart. Hate Plague: Mother Righetous is able to magically cast one on Mystique powerful enough to make her skewer Destiny for no reason. Mind Probe: In his origin story, Exodus fought and won a psychic duel with Sersi of the Eternals. Here, it's revealed he actually read her mind as he did so and learned a lot about Eternals, giving valuable insight into their nature.Immaturity Insult: Destiny thinks to herself that Essex is like a toddler who enters a party and assumes all the gifts are for him. Destiny informed the Council about upcoming conflict between the Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals. While White Queen informed them about Doctor Statis, Mister Sinister's clone claiming to be the real Sinister, causing Mister Sinister to flee only to be captured briefly by Eternals. Only Destiny and Mystique were aware of three other clones of him. [10]
