About this deal

The user manual for both 3D printers is very intuitive and easy to understand. However, I have to say that the manual for the Ender-5 S1 is better. Print Bed Levelling Ender-5 S1 Ender-5 Pro Assembled, the Ender 5 Pro is a bit bigger than the Ender 3 V2 – 552 x 485 x 510 mm and 475 x 470 x 620 mm, respectively – so factor this in if you’re working with limited workshop or bedroom space. Firmware

Much like it did with the jump from the Ender 3 to the Ender 3 Pro, Creality took the core experience and feature-set of the Ender 5 and injected several choice upgrades to create the Ender 5 Pro. This printer is very much a souped-up replacement for the original, with only a slight premium tagged on. We also have to mention the recently launched Ender 3 Neo, the tenth printer to join the Ender 3 line-up. The removable build plate is made of coated flexible steel, which is awesome. The surface is a bit of a let down since the soft PC coating is easily damaged. My plate already suffered a few scratches, including a deep gouge resulting from that typo I talked about in the leveling directions. The surface does a good job of holding onto prints, but if your Z height is a bit too close you’ll end up embedding plastic into the surface. No fun. A steel transmission shaft connects and synchronizes the two Y-axis belts, significantly increasing durability and precision without compromising on the print speed.

In terms of reliability, the Ender-5 S1 also achieved a 100% success rate for 1000-hour printing at 250mm/s high speed and 0.2mm layer height, making it a reliable choice for studios, 3d printing farms, and other small to medium-sized businesses seeking to build up their production fleet. 300°C High Temperature Printing

This 3D printer isn’t exactly pre-assembled; a growing number of machines are coming as a couple of sub-assemblies that can be put together in a few minutes. With the Ender 5 S1 you have to build the thing, but this is a much simpler task than building our Ender 3 was. There are four main components – the upper and lower frames, the Z axis drive mechanism and the build plate – then the vertical frame members and a handful of smaller components. Creality seems well aware of this, which is why we’ve seen the newer Ender models, specifically the Ender 3 S1 and Neo lines-up fitted with CR Touch probes for automatic bed leveling. BLTouch Auto Bed Leveling Sensor– the king of third-party automatic bed leveling upgrades, the mighty BL Touch pairs beautifully with both the Ender 3 and Ender 5. With subsequent Ender 3 models, namely the Ender 3 V2 and the latest Ender 3 S1/S1 Pro duo, Creality has greatly simplified the process and cut down on build times to match those of the Ender 5. The Ender 3 ships as more or less a kit with an array of parts that need joining and fixing together to construct the printer. Shoddy instructions don’t help matters here (fortunately YouTube is awash with build guides to help you) and could cause quite a few stumbles for beginners building their first printer. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours grappling with the parts before the Ender 3 is ready to print.Unlike single gantry printers, each of the three axes of the Ender-5 S1 is driven by a powerful high precision stepper motor, providing robust and reliable operations for maximum productivity. A common test print I do for PETG is the Flexi Fox, mostly because it’s a good test for adhesion with PETG. This time, this won’t tell us too much about the adhesion as my plate was scratched early in the review process so I used a textured PEI sheet. But it still came out quite good, with minor stringing so I’m happy. From left to right: Volcano style, Creality Spider nozzle, and Standard Creality MK8. (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) The Ender 5 shows an open-frame extruded aluminum cubic structure. When properly assembled, it results in a rigid and sturdy construction. The open design eliminates the risk of collision between the hot bed and the frame, an issue frequently encountered when printing with the Ender 3. Crafted with high-quality components, the Ender-5 Plus guarantees superior print quality and durability. Its sturdy metal parts ensure stability during printing, minimizing vibrations and resulting in smoother prints. The heat-resistant glass platform provides excellent adhesion and heat distribution, ensuring optimal print bed conditions for consistent and reliable results. Trust in the Ender-5 Plus to deliver exceptional prints time after time.
