About this deal

The V7 Trigger wasn’t alone in this challenge. As a point of comparison, I also tested the area with a Dyson V8. Both vacuums had a tough time but the V8 on MAX power cleaned the area while the V7 at the same setting struggled. green laser light that helps you spot where your hard floor is dirty; and the anti-tangle brush bar floor head for carpet, which guides hair off the roller and into the collection bin before it can wrap itself around the roller and become a problem. The mini motorised tool is great for cleaning most surfaces, but it’s too bulky for awkward locations. It may also be too abrasive for delicate surfaces. For this reason, Dyson has included the following tools: Put it all together and you’ve got the best Dyson you can buy: its most powerful cleaner to date, coupled with new technology that’s genuinely useful.

The V7 Trigger includes a washable filter, which you’ll need to keep clean to maintain the vacuum’s suction power. There is no HEPA filter included with the vacuum, which is a shame considering we think many people will be using this vacuum for cleaning pet dander and other allergens. Like all Dyson vacuums, the V7 Trigger is a bagless model that’s built with two tiers of radial cyclones to capture microscopic dust and other particles. The cyclonic design also prevents loss of suction as the vacuum fills up, which is a common problem for cheaper handheld vacs. As for the cyclonic separation technology, that refers to the cones at the top of the internal dust canister. They use the airflow to separate dust and dirt from the air, depositing more waste – including microscopic particles – into the canister without the need for complex filters. The Dyson V7 Trigger is a premium handheld vacuum. It’s a pricey model, but offers the same design and cleaning power as the excellent Dyson V7 cordless vacuum. The Trigger also comes with a motorised tool, several accessories, and a 0.54 litre dust canister.Admittedly, the battery life on the V7 Trigger isn't amazing, and probably sits around the mid range for a handheld vac. Particularly when it comes to the max power mode, which will only give you six minutes before it bites the dust.

One of the things we love about the V7 Trigger is the mini motorised tool, which is a small attachment consisting of a powered brush bar and stiff bristles. During our tests, using this tool made the vacuum much more effective at removing stubborn dirt, as the vacuum can agitate debris rather than relying on suction power alone. However, while it doesn’t offer the extreme suction of Dyson’s cordless models on their Boost mode, the Ball Animal is more powerful than the standard modes of such machines. With the added benefit that it isn’t going to run out and require recharging, this makes it perfect for larger, more serious cleaning jobs. Although it’s no shorter than the V15, the collection bin is smaller at 350ml, and it doesn’t contain as many of Dyson’s cyclones, reducing the overall suction power to 150AW. Don’t let that put you off, though, because there’s still enough power here to perform a fantastic cleaning job, albeit in a smaller unit that doesn’t take up as much room, so is easier to store. It’s also a good deal cheaper than the V15. Slide the housing of the upright vacuum cleaner and unscrew the white hood of the vacuum cleaner with a Torx T8. Then unclip it on the sides (with a flat screwdriver) Upright – This is a one-piece unit and the model that most closely resembles the traditional machine that most people will picture when they think of a vacuum cleaner. The suction head is at the bottom, the handle is at the top and the dust container mounted in between. It’s a simple, tried and tested design. The latest models come with Dyson’s hair-detangling floor head, which combs the brushes of its rotating brush bar as the vacuum cleans, ensuring that hair doesn’t get tangled. The V7 Trigger comes with a 21.6V battery that can provide a maximum of 30-minutes suction power. This is much longer than many handheld vacs (some models last less than 10 minutes), making the Trigger a great choice for longer cleaning sessions. We found that using the mini motorised tools for carpeted steps, then following up with the crevice tool for edges and corners, left our stairs looking spotless. It’s just as effective at cleaning hard floor stairs too. Pet Hair The Absolute model comes with three of these in the box: a hard floor head with a laser that highlights the dust on your floor to give you proof of your clean; a new High Torque Head that combs hair from itself as it vacuums your carpets; and a smaller motorised head for furniture and stairs with a unique corkscrew-shaped brush that releases hair from itself as it spins. Disassemble the housing (unscrew two screws next to the handle and four screws around the housing at the top)
